i've never really understood the appeal of live recordings
unless it's unleased material or jazz/improvisational music.
most live albums i've come across basically consist of
weaker versions of studio tracks with obnoxious crowd noises
on top.

i guess that would make me interested in hearing some actual
good live albums/recordings as well.

yeah, live recordings of songs made in studio beforehand can
be pretty dull, specially in their original form..but
there's lots and lots of recordings of unique musical
events..like you say, mostly from jazz/ impro music.
