And have downloaded some homebrew music making software.
There are 4 reasons I bought a PSP. 1-Homebrew music
software so I can make music at work 2-Prince of Persia
rival swords 3-Ratchet and Clank 4-Silent Hill origins.

I will post when I have finished charging the battery and
get the music software on here :) :)

glad your enjoyin your new little gadget tax. treat yourself
to Wipeout Pure. it's the best racing game on the PSP and
what i think is the best PSP game released so far.

I think I will! I am looking forward to playing it! I want
to go out and get a bunch of games, but I just spent 300 on
it and a bunch of accessories, so I am kind of broke :S

Have you managed to try any of the music software for it?

I have a PSP, but have been reluctant to homebrew the
fucker. It's been a while, so I am hoping the process has
become a little more simple, secure, etc...

My concern was not being able to play the games I do own.
Also, having a small memory card and being on a MAC has
stood in the way.

I'm wondering if there are new solutions? My recent
installation of XP on bootcamp got me thinking about this
again the other day.

Isn't that a change of pace from your phallic music gear
fetish gay hotdog marmalade?
Oh fuck, I just saw 'stewart saves his family' or at least a
fifth of it including lots of fastforwarding. It was
torture.
I like flash 8 pro so far at least when its not pissing me
off with its counterintuitive bs. One example: the frames
are numbered in groups of 5, a remnant of our retarded 10
finger having number system. Also there is no '0' frame so
if you want frames in groups of 8's you have to put the
keyframes on 9 and 17 to keep in line with the 1.
Oh yeah, I think this topic was about psp or something. I
don't want to talk about that very much. Merry christmas.
Cylob.

No, its not. I am turning it into another part of the
studio, not using it as the main workstation. Its still
going to be different from using a computer.

a psp without homebrew isnt worth owning.

installing custom firmware lets you play anything, with or
without the game. that includes all psp games, psx games,
snes games, gameboy, mega drive, master system, c64, atari,
spectrum, amiga... i could keep listing but you get the
point. even the n64 is getting there (fairly slow like,
mario is playable).

its worth going for it

Ive used pretty much all the music programs for the PSP and
some are good and some are shit. Some of the good ones to
check out are, PSP Sequencer, PSP Rhythm, PSP Kick. Their is
one that allows you to kinda control ableton live but it's
not all that great an app. The most expensive program
soundwise is PSP Rhythm and you can tweak the sound and add
all your own samples, etc. Check out the downloads on
pspupdates.com, they have alot of good psp homebrew as well.

Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops and Syphon Filter Dark Mirror
alone justified the PSP's price for me. The rest is yummy
frosting in the shape of flowers.

HAH! I used my PSP to find a stray internet signal and look
at porn online.

Lumines 2 has a limited, but worth having, sequencer built
in. I use it more than the homebrew music applications (and
have actually written stuff on it that I've then redone
properly on a PC later). I do agree with Grahf though,
homebrew is probably more important than the 1st party
stuff.

I rarely use my PSP, but when I do its purely as a portable
megadrive now via an emulator. I do regret getting it. It
seemed like a good idea at the time, but in hindsight, its
an enormous waste of money and I never use it.

Yep, portable Megadrive/NES is my main use for it. I use it
enough to more than justify the cost though.

I bought a DS after I bought a PSP. DS I use all the time.
PSP hardly ever...

I got my girlfriend a DS lite for xmas. She bought one of
those flashcard things shortly afterwards and a mate
provided me with a set of DVD-rs with all the games released
so far for it. I have to agree the DS is a lot more fun,
even if technically/graphically it's not as good. I have
been giving serious consideration for part-exing my PSP &
games for one. Do you know if the emulators for the DS are
any good?

Hmmm. Well, I am pretty easy to keep happy with things like
this. I don't think I will get bored too soon. Looking at
the DS, and comparing it to the PSP, there was more I was
interested with the PSP. That said, the stylus and screen of
the DS would be extremely convenient. I am so used to having
a treo all day at work, that small handheld devices without
touchscreens and a graffiti system seem kind of wierd.

I'm exactly the opposite. I had a DS and PSP, but I sold my
DS because outside of a few good platformers there was very
little of interest. Anything 3d attempted on that system
just hurts my eyes...
