Are there any R. James quotes hinting about his thoughts on
BOC. I heard Squarepusher dissed them.

I am fond of what BOC is doing, personally.

Heres a quote " I got the chance to sign them but back then
I didnt knew how good they really was, I kinda got into them
lately" something like that, he said he like the music but
didnt think it was something special until now.

Square never dissed BOC.

I think BOC is cool, but I don't think they're all that
they're cracked up to be. I just don't think they're THAT
amazing. They haven't really done anything that blows my
mind really.

Squarepusher VS Aphex Twin in a drill & bass showdown...
could be interesting...

My experience with BOC is that there music develops into
something personal and interesting as you give it more
listening time. You build a relationship with the music. I
like that in art. With an artist like Squarepusher I feel
like Im being shown something wonderful, where as with BOC
or Philip Glass or Steven Reich I feel like Im participating
in the music. My mind adds its own inflections. Both of
these types have merit and mixing them makes, for me, a nice
collection of things to draw from.

I get that too, just not with BOC very much. I get it with
Eno and SAW II just to name a few.

And yes, Reich and Glass are wonderful. Have you heard the
box set by Reich? It's very nice.

I dont think squarepusher actually likes anyone on warp,
apart from LFO, and that only one song.

the water!

much gin. creppy, but i like it.

I like Aphex's percussion tones and production better but I
like Squarepusher's sequencing a touch more, but he has a
lot more material out of this kind than Aphex does. If there
were two more albums like Drukqs out it might be a different
story.

sure []< is the king of drill...
but aphex's drill is ... <--insert amazing comment here
i like very much of aphex's past pre-drill n bass stuff like
73yips, and some songs from classics ab3 and caustic window,
in fact i think 92-93 is my favs ^rdj~ era...

time...dont really know what squarpusher feels about them...

I think CockVer10 out-Squarepushers anything Squarepusher
has ever done! That track just blows my head blow up and
makes the individual blowed up parts explode even more.

But Square is still king of that maniacal style...

Cock/Ver10 is probably the Aphex's best drill, but I think a
lot of stuff on Big Loada is more intricate and awesome.

Corngrower: I agree, god I would love another 13 tracks of
ICBYD-ness.
