I know this will get a whole lotta haters..but I miss them
they had some mad skills in remixing and reocnstructing
other people's work...and I just groan when I hear Autechre
this and Autechre that... I think along the line they
produced a very solid soulful and funky body of work which
had little or no resemblance to Autechre...

If I had given up on Autechre because I thought their first
two albums were shit (which I still think they are...didnt
really connect with them till Tri Repetae..) I would have
deprived myself what I consider one of my all time
favourites (yeah yeah I am still talking about Autechre)...

but look whats on offer now, what passes for creativity,
Even Funkstorung's Acid Planet stuff can still hold its own
to the new lot of Acid Washout...

the exclusive mix is pure savage - a must have for a fan.

an interesting track is their one from the mask100 - sounds
definately like an autechre track. good that they managed to
get their own style later

I have only recently heard apetite for destruction, I like
their sound.

What else is worth checking out from funkstorung?

oh all this interest in Funkstorung..I am so happy..sob..
there is the whole Acid Planet range they did and then
revisited but for me it was their curnching up and blitzing
of pop and hip-hop that they started with
"Additional Productions" that made me sit up and take
notice...true its also got its most Autechreish moments, but
its already got the pop and funk that Autechre honestly
never even aim for...see different headspaces already... and
there is a warmth in sound and also outright blatant
melodiousness...but ture dat...the track Henryk is my
favourite and sounds like a cross between something off LP5
and Formula by Aphex...

"Appetite for Disctruction" More focus on damaged stuttering
hip hop..their own sound is getting more defined....honestly
the production on this album is phenomenal...even with all
the glitching and crunching going on it sounds huge and
live....

"Vice Versa"--A mix of Collaborations and Remixes...man on
this they are so much into their own sound that...a lot of
soul, jazz and funk...a lot more of the live sound...."I
Want Some Fun"...with Jay Jay Johnson...is heartbreakingly
sad and beautiful...they are more in Herbert Territory

"Disconnected" I am not even sure if this qualifies as
IDM..all tracks are original..all features...vocals...some
beautiful melodies harmonies and singing...live
instrumentation..the glitch has definetly taken a
backseat..a lot of people disliked this album...but its a
real grower
