Escape!

You hate the smog that surrounds you
The withered trees that smother you
The throbbing maggots that feed on you
The witless crows that deafen you

You glare at the top of that building
The building touching Heaven
Its body holds every secret
Each season is recorded on its skin

There you’ll escape the fog that strangles you
The weeds that entangle you
The vultures feasting on you
The ground that always holds you.

I don't like your anti-crow stance, to be honest [tbh].

The Escape - Scott Walker (from the album "The
Drift")

The car in front follows
the long way around

Prey moves
predator moves

Foreshortened angels hunting me down

Halle - halle - halle
Underkill -
sticks in gullets

Overkill -
is personal
too many bullets

Rabbi crater
keyed for action
hits the marks

I wish I was in Dixie

Sleet switches
silence
to the shredding
of larks

Serifot
Combs of honey
Kellipot
Saliva's coating
balls of money

You and me against the world
You and me against the world
You and me against the world

World about to end
World about to end
World about to end

Wind blown hair in a windowless room

A lifeline of knuckles -
waddles into the afternoon

Look into its eyes

It will look into your eyes

WHAT'S UP, DOC?
WHAT'S UP, DOC?
WHAT'S UP, DOC?
WHAT'S UP, DOC?

Thanks for reminding me to get some Scott Walker - I've only
ever had The Walker Brothers releases and I've heard such
good things about his solo work.

"Scott 3" is great because it has "it's raining today"

I've just been on the SCOTT TIP like nobodies business. MY
TOP 5

Tilt ( Experimental chamber music with whisps of Industrial,
Ambient, poetry, soundscapes, locust rhythms - so much
detail but never loses its fragile balance, always on the
brink of collapse, soul battering)
Climate of Hunter (A delicious 80s AOR production enveloping
disquietening tales of mutilation and torture, among other
things)
Scott IV (Brilliant, end to end)
The Drift (The ONLY record that has any justification being
released today)
Nite Flights (final Walker Brothers album, 6 medicore tracks
mainly by the other two, four ASTONISHING solo Scott tracks
which mark his departure into his own, unique vision)
