With ACID washes all over the horizon of IDM/Braindance etc
do we any longer hold the right be snobbish to the fans of
other more pedestrian electronic genres...

Creativity..my dear all...has left the building...

I don't think there are many people here who don't like some
sort of "more popular" dance/electronic music (be it
Prodigy, Chemical Brothers, NIN, Underworld, etc.). So I
don't see why people see that sort of music as lesser.

There's nothing wrong with being snobbish about euphoric
trance though- that shit is gay.

You never loose your right to do anything of the sort. Can
you still feel respect for yourself after having listened to
some acid washes on a good IDM/Braindance etc? Maybe if its
good acid?

Really, what are your worried about. Its not like the
'average listening consumer' doesn't think you don't listen
to bad music anyway. The only judgment you should worry
about is your own.

When all is said & done, it doesn't matter at all & snobs
are vacuous.
