I've just happenend across this on the Evolver
website.
Looks like Dave Smith (inventer of prophet synths, etc) and
Roger Linn (creator of original MPCs) have teamed up to make
this interesting looking digital/analogue hybrid drum
machine.
Here is a bigger picture of what they think it will look
like: LAZY_TITLE

Looks rather good.

Hot diggity-damn. That might just be the machine to displace
the machine drum as the undisputed king of analogue-style
drum machines.

i saw this and have been curious to give it a run.... I
would definitely like to pick one of these up rather then
the machinedrum... but I'm still holding out for a jomox

Probably. If I am not mistaken, sequential circuits was the
first company to make a drum machine with parameter locks.

Yes I saw the NAMM poster as well. It would be nice if it
did appear some day although to be honest I don't hold out a
massive amount of hope. :(

That is a proof of concept poster that was displayed by both
dave smith and roger linn. I would bet money that they were
well into the prototype stage by the time namm came around.
Dave smith and roger linn both have good reputations, but if
they were to exhibit something like that without trying very
hard to bring it to fruition, they would be staking a lot of
what they have built over the past few years. Its not a
guarantee, but I am pretty sure it will be happening.
