Good luck! I sold my nord lead 3 the other month. Ended up
getting a little phatty for what I made :) It was a trade up
IMO.

Didn't you like the Nord Lead 3? I'm finding it to be a very
inspiring piece of kit, especially the FM stuff. I'm amazed
at the range of sounds you can make on it, and the character
of its sounds in general.

I'd rather have my Alesis Ion to be honest.

Ion rather than a NL2? Why?

I found that I can get a lot of the same sounds out of one
of the other pieces of equipment I have. Personally, I
though the filters in the nord lead 3 were a bit lacking in
character. Its 4 pole was still not as thick sounding as
many of the 2 pole filters that I could find in software.
Plus I don't like FM. I will occasionally dive into a TX81z
for some preset sounds, but I hate programming FM. I have
gotten to the point where I don't necessarily need something
to emulate a bunch of different stuff, I would rather have a
bunch of the stuff that is being emulated.

Seriously, the LP is one powerful sounding synthesizer.
There is no way you could match it with a nord lead 3.

Ions are pretty nice, but I found their ability to do
convincing analogue was a bit lacking. The fact that you can
do convincing physical modeling with them is a good selling
point though. And that interface kills everything.

We heart the NL2, great piece of kit.

Now that I'm used to the light up L.E.Ds for the knobs on
the Nord Lead 3 it's hard to go back to normal interfaces.
It makes a massive difference being able to see all the
parameter settings for your patches as soon as you switch
between them.

I would like some frantic techno at my fingertips.

although the Nord Modular G2 is quite the machine for that
as well...
