Pretty self explanitory...did anyone here go see richard at the atp last night? How was the set? did he even show? |

I was there, don't know if it was him. Weather or not it was, is was one of the lamest most unimmaginitive "performances" I've ever seen. There was a line to see him around the building NEXT TO the one the show was in. I got in to see the Boredoms who played before him. That was the best part of the whole day. Anyway time for the Aphex set. Lights dim, some music starts, a guy comes out on stage in a white lab coat and a goblin mask. Music starts, he starts dancing around like a dumbass. Just raising his hands in the air and thats about it. I figure its just the intro to the set. Wrong. 20 mins later and its the same crap. Some dwarves came out and danced with him for like 2-3 mins then went away. Thats when I walked out. About 30 mins and nothing happend. I don't know if that was him dancing around. The mask never came off. I really hope it wasn't him, cause I expected more. When I go to a show I wanna see someone PLAY music, not hit play on a cd player and dance around like a dumbass. Don't get me wrong I still like his music alot, but this is one of the lamest things I've ever seen. Anyone else go? Did the set ever change at all? |

that kinda makes me sick, i dont like that review. richard should know better. i think its cool when artists do what they want, but enough is enough. The only example i have is the plaid/mira calix show. Mira opened the show by playing this dark boring scary bullshit for roughly an hour. I dont know, maybe she did that to make plaid sound lots better. |

ahhhhhhhh what r u talking about anonimouse? richard was sitting indian style in front of his laptop the whole time, the tripping guy came out and danced the whole hour and 40 minutes (richards set was only supposed to be an hour and 15) and richards girlfriend was up there dancing too as well i think..and the midgit chick....according to my boyf richard used live effects on all the songs he played, either that or they were all sick as fuck remixes...played super fast...(he played hangable auto bulb i was so pleasantly surprised!-and like 5 squarepusher songs...a couple songs from drukqs...some new shit ive never heard before...and some stuff that i forgot) everyone was going nuts waiting for him to come on stage cuz the rest of the party SUCKED...merzbow or whatever the fuck his name was was the worst thing ive ever seen...one loud annoying sound for 40 minutes straight....to another loud annoying sound...the music didnt go anywhere! anywayz back to richard...i didnt stop dancing the whole time....for the people that waited too long to get inside the venue....sux 2 be u....it was packed in there....boredoms was good...cept for the screaming....good ass drummers thats for sure...anywayz everyone pretty much camped out in the ballroom for 6 hours waiting for richard to come on...and it was the best shit ive ever heard at a party....made me wanna fucken climb the walls! |
