Boring or not, the hype machine will generate much interest
for soulsearching. People will hear it and post their
in-depth views on the internet. It's the neverending circle
of filesharing, rephlex will eventually die, satan will
laugh.

i think its safe to say that if anyone was responsible for
Rushup Edge leaking it was Elusive's doing. He had the full
LP for at least 2 weeks previous to this 'leak'

the astrobotnia tracks only ever focused on one idea, two at
most, while the tracks on rushup edge have enough going on
to hold up to repeated listening. this is a completely
different beastphlex.

its weird that it takes like two days of listening to even
figure out whats going on in these tracks. also funny how
nobody is suspicious about these being fakes cause they are
too good.

Albeit an excellent release, 2 days later I find myself
feeling less excited about this actually.

Aphex fanboyism aside, I think he is capable of WAY more
still. To me this is still another ep in a lot of ways.

If it was 12-14 tracks long and well over an hour in length,
I think I could bring myself to share in the same sentiment
(as many here) that this is truly as remarkable as it is or
"the best record of the year," as many people have
suggested.

Don't get me wrong, this shit is good, but 6 years later I
can still reach for Drukqs and be completely satisfied.

I'm not sure I can say the same thing about Rushup Edge in
2013.

One last thing...

talking to some people (here and elsewhere), it's been
suggested that the lack of criticality in regards to this
record might just be a result of the aforementioned 6 year
break in any return to true Aphex style. Yeah, I know this
is "different," but this is the closest we've gotten since
pre-Anuslord and it's fallen short for some of us in a lot
of ways.

One thing is clear. The Tuss sounds like an addition to the
Analord series. It is some amazing motherfucking music.
Aphex Twin makes amazing music! No matter what name he
chooses to release it under. I don't care who it is, but I
do think it is Richard D James. Eat more mustard. Have a
nice day.

it's not "bad," especially if acid is one of your perfered
genres. Actually Rushup I Bank 12 is a pretty good song,
even if afx is stealing his own melody from Crying In Your
Face.

I just have to be in the mood for this sound. These kind of
fast beepy sort of video game melodies grow tiresome quickly
to me.

Aside from I Bank 12, Synthacon has one little switchup I
like (2:00-2:22... those hi-hats) but otherwise it's a real
snoozer for 6 minutes 20 seconds.

How can you even compare this to drukqs?
it's not even worth the arguement, sheesh.

Finally I managed to get hold of some rushup edge mp3's....
Synthacon 9 is brilliant, reminds me a bit of polygon window
actually...

If THE TUSS is not RDJ he should try to find his own sound
and not duplicate/clone/copy the twin just because he
can...

in other words, this MUST be the works of rdj...

I think it's brilliant. I didin't think so much of it at
first listen but wowow it's really great.
RDJ keeps exploring that melodic/harmonic theme he first
showed on drukqs (so it must be him, or someone who has
studied him).

My least favorite is Shiz Ko E, wich I could describe as a
remix of a kerrier district track.

It's the best think to come out of the "scene" in years.

lush melodies & bass lines: present.
fucked up beats: present.
freshness: oh yes, even though it's analog, acid and all

favorite: Rushup I Bank 12.
