hm. i really wonder why they suddenly felt like putting something out again after all the years. rather ungrateful job to follow their own legacy, i guess...

i think this is a really great release. It reminds me a lot of their last album "journey through a body" but with a modern production aesthetic.

i think there is too much focus on their relationship to musical innovation and not enough on what the band actually sounds like/is capable of.
while i certainly wouldn't sing unequivocal praises, because the songwriting isn't all great. but i am glad that it has song-qualities to it; i'm glad that there is a continuity with what Sleazy's other group, Coil, was doing before Jhonn Balance's untimely death.
if it isn't beyond the imagination of a lot of experimental music today, well it's still occupying a neighbourhood that isn't all that populated.
