like?

The "classic" story-book magic.. curses, spells, fireballs
shooting from your hands, etc.

I think that most 'parranorrmal' phenomenon is actually the
effect of time trravelerrs. I mean that.

There are several explanations for almost all supernatural
occurrences; to quote the pet shop boys: "nothing has been
proved".

I don't really believe anything of it either, I just don't
have a reason to, and it's not the kind of thing I feel I
need to trust others about; it's not important enough (as
weird as that may sound). I'm not really sure what it would
take to make me believe either.. what could you possibly
experience to make you believe this type of stuff?

Yeah, several explanations, and supernatural is a kind of a
weird word (it'd have to be natural if it existed), but
then.. do you believe the people who say they see ghosts?
Those who say they communicate with ghosts?

Being an eye witness to the appearance of an apparition,
preferably a beautiful naked woman. But this can be reduced
to one having some kind psychological disorder and people
calling you crazy.

Who am I to say what is real and what isn't? Maybe some
people really see psychological imprints of formerly
sentient beings whilst others are crazy drivelbugs and see
things projected only from their inner workings.

I used to go ''ghost hunting'' in the cemeteries behind my
house and near my cousin's house, and we definitely saw what
we knew for sure at the time, 100%, were ghosts. I swear on
Vincent Price's grave. It was so exciting that I've tried
hard to believe in them, in the hopes that I may feel that
kind of excitement again. And I refuse to say (or admit :-(
) that I don't believe in the paranormal.

the atheist positivist empiricist aj ayer turned to
considering supernatural "truths" after he had one of those
near death experiences, in which you walk through a tunnel
to some bright light.

if the likes of which you are asking about can be explained,
i believe it has to do with the theory of multiple
dimensions and the exchange of energy between to planes of
existence. besides, how we define this world is based on
our limited perception through the five senses. there are
plenty of things which we have only been able to prove by
technology we devoloped, soley to detect this "hidden"
information. ie: light energy spectrum, atoms, and the
larger molecules from the galaxy. in that case, i wouldn't
be so brash as to speculate that paranormal events can be
entirely ruled out as an actual reality. our inability to
commonly experience these activities on a regular and
consistent basis doesn't allow us to make a finite
conclusion on the matter, other than ideas which can't be
proven.

yes, but everything paranormal related can be covered up by
something really typical, like pure coïncedence or a fucky
lightswitch. Actually you cannot prove anything, which is
annoying.

I agree. I mean, if you're in your room, and the
termperature suddenly drops and and the chair shoots across
the room and a loud scratching sound bursts out of the
cuboard for five minutes, all sorts of things could be put
forward (apart from it being a delusion) to explain the
events: Your heater broke down suddenly, and steam pissed
out of a hole that caused the breakage, causing the chair to
fly across the room and a drop in temperature, and the nails
in the chair somehow slipped into the cuboard and rolled
around in there for five minutes because....I don't know.
I'm drunk. But you get what I mean. People will always
"excuse" paranormal experiences as a series of natural
events/coincidences by defult, simply because they are
paranormal and CAN'T be true. Perhaps they're right to do
that, but me and lots of people far more sane than I have
seen stuff that defies belief, and some sceptic saying "you
CAN'T have seen that" isn't going to sway those people.
There's a possibility that there's more to our surroundings
than we're currently aware of.

While I agree that many paranormal sceptics are overly
suspicious and elaborate in their explanations, it is best
to truly maintain an open mind, and not immediately believe
it must be some malevolent spirit external to oneself who is
causing mischief.

When I lived with my mom and sister, we had a ghost haunt us
for a few days. At first I was skeptical and attributed
every last strange occurence to my psychosis, but then my
sister explained the same thing, then the next night, my
mom. One night we all slept in the hallway, refusing to go
back into our bedrooms. We felt something walking on our
beds, possibly crawling on knees, then we felt hands
strangling us. True Story.

I don't believe in the "supernatural" per se but there could
easily be something we perceive as ghostly activity that is
really resonances and echoes of consciousness-vibration in
an unknown medium that I like to call the absurdoplasm.

i really dont know. and neither do anyone of you. but after
experiencing drugs i believe people see whatever they want
to see.. so therefore.. no, i do not 'believe'. but i really
don't care so much about those things.. i mean they are
exciting and all... but seriously, once you get down to the
facts of the universe, supernatural suddenly becomes
natural.

i hope that somewhat made sense.

you mean, "fantasize" instead of "fantasise"? from what i've
read (and according to my dictionary as well), the -ize
suffix is also accepted in british english... and it just
looks better/more "natural" to me for some reason. maybe
because i'm used to seeing it spelled that way.

(now i have to admit that i'm a bit careless on the internet
when using english, i know i have written "color" in some
posts and "colour" in others for example. feel free to
correct me if i make any mistakes!)

A few years back, I believed in the paranormal for a couple
of seconds, when a glass-shelf in our living-room fell off
its stand and made a heck-alot of noise. In the middle of
the goddamn night.

Haha, yeah, it's interesting how even the most sober people
get kind of freaked out if they're alone in a large house at
night watching some kind of ghost program.

When I was very young I heard somewhere that if you wished
for some loved one that has gone, he or she would visit you
as a ghost. I remember I often considered, while in bed
(when young), if I should give it a try, but the mere
thought of it instantly freaked me out.

And nowadays I feel it's too much nonsense surrounding the
whole subject to attract any greater attention.

To me, the notion of a round earth (obvious as that may be)
or a whole universe surrounding it, or the fact that I can
move my hands is a much more greater mystery, or "wonder"
than any dead people walking about. ;)
