The album is pretty good, but if you ever get a chance to see him live, it's simply amazing. Very intense, and "live" (for electronic music that is).

mpc4000 and a kurzweil k2000xvs
basically all one would ever need to do everything they ever wanted
as far as hardware is concerned kurzweils synth engine is pretty intense although the 2500 and 2600 2661 models come with kdfx which is pretty staggering the latter two come with the triple modular synthesis option
that takes you into deep space
