Last time I checked, apparat was extremely forgettable
cliche IDM. Have they improved their act since a few years
ago?

Do you have the promo? A lot of glitches as reported on
Oink?

I'm halfway and it's sweet-sounding again. I really dig his
symphonic touch.

Dude, Apparat is so freshhhhh and organic.
In the IDM scene there is also Digitonal who produces Modern
Classical IDM with violins, saxophones, percussion and some
guest vocalists. I guess there are a few other acts which
sounds a bit like him though, but it definitely isn't cliche
IDM.

i remember seeing him live in 05 on some festival in paris,
after a friend dragged me from the subwoofer speaker just
beside the stage (on which i had literally fallen asleep
during mu-ziq's set, who had been playing before (i often
become a bit narcoleptic on alcohol)) onto the dancefloor
because he really dug it, as it seemed. and indeed, i have
fond memories of dithering around half asleep, half
"dancing" to the conveniently dreamy and rhythmically
straight tunes he was pulling off that night, it just really
fitted my condition that moment. later i checked out some
albums but they didn't quite catch the feeling, but well...
still slightly above average with a quite distinctively
human, melancholic touch... i guess i'll try this one out,
too, then.

he also has a funny face.

There's some great stuff on this album, and one track is
mindblowing for sure - "You Don't Know Me". Best track I've
heard this year so far, together with "Haliod Xerrox Copy 1"
from new Alva Noto, and "Haru" from Fennesz/Sakamoto new
collab.

And the artwork is lovely too:

Do you know if you have the promo-mp3's or a rip from the
real deal?

the singing is the worst part. it spoils the album. i prefer
his older EPs like "berlin, montreal, tel aviv"

no singing please

hmm, i like the singing, infact i'd have to say 'arcadia' is
my favourite track on the album.
