I really like 'The Life Aquatic' soundtrack. It makes me
feel good. What soundtracks do you like?

The soundtrack to fight club is really good. It's by the
dust brothers and is an excellent album by itself.

I also love the music to "the third man". It's a a really
good old black and white film which has zither music and
it's just great.

2001 a space oddessy of course.

Lalo Schifrin's score for Bullet is great

Herbie Hancock's death wish soundtrack is a good listen and
is heaven for anyone with a sampler.

Roy Budd has done some brilliant works. I particularly like
M15 from the film Foxbat and the get carter theme.

The alien soundtrack by Larry Heard is brilliant.

Assault on precinct 13 (the original one) has some great
bits of synth noodling and a rather lovely "sad" track for
when one of the characters gets shot. john Carpenter did the
sounds as well as directing.

Finally, the taking of pelham 123 soundtrack is so good. I
can't remember who it's by, but you should seriously get it.
It's a proper film soundtrack from the good old days.

'The Virgin Suicides' is an old gem. I love the sound Air
came up with for that. Some of those melodies and
atmospheres are too good to be true.

i've seen a rather stupid movie called... eh... Blueberry,
which resembled Deadman; music in general was usual stringy
soundtrack excluding one place, where it became, let me say,
beautiful. I remember that the camera was performing a
fly-through in a picturesque canyon while the beautiful
chords were playing. Starting a search for this now.

soundtrack which I can't find

O brother where art thou - consonant country, lots of fun

one of Svankmajer movies has a nice Czech jazzy song in it,
but i forgot what film it is. It is also featured in
Brothers Quay "A Cabinet Of Jan Svankmajer"

Ravenous soundtrack by Damon Albarn / Michael Nyman

You ma bro, Gwely! :D

Ravenous is a fu**ing killer-soundtrack! :)

I got quite addicted to "Hail Columbia", "Boyd's Journey",
and the "End Titles"-tune.

A couple of weeks back I was about to make a topic
concerning this soundtrack, but I couldn't think of anything
wise to say but stuff like, "Man, you have to hear this
stuff!", and decided to lay it a rest.

To all it may concern:
This particular tune by Kenji Kawai

Follow me

is not the "Follow me"-track (track 12) of the Original
Soundtrack of GITS: Innocence, but a remix of sorts with a
sweet tapdrumming beat, and a jazz-synth - has anyone got a
clue as to what this track may be from, or where I can find
it?

It's a damn shame if it's trailer-only.

seconded:
the ligeti pieces used in the mentioned kubrick films,
akira (got a soft spot for japanese traditional music... and
that "requiem"!... *sigh*),
horror flick soundtracks by goblin,
angelo badalamenti's works for lynch,
blade runner

still missing:
eraserhead (!),
a clockwork orange (timesteps... brr)

...generally i think music is a bit overused in movies,
though. you know what i mean if you've seen a haneke movie.
drama strikes you so much harder really when it isn't
aesthetized with some sad piano tune all the time.
