The last time I plugged my "no discernable trademark", generic mp3-player into my laptop and it didn't appear as a drive, so I am stuck with whatever my last lousy playlist was.

this one, only 1 GB though, because they didn't have the 2 and 3 GB when i purchased it. The 3 Gb seems to be awefully cheap nowadays too. Just the touchpad is abit unhandy at times, but you'll get used to it eventually.

20 Gig Sony NWA3000
i used to have a 10 gig iPod, but it packed it in after 1.5 years.
Fuck ipods
The Sony player has advantages- works on multiple computers, good battery life, solid and sturdy design. But, Sonic Stage can give you the shits, and the unit itself can be a little slow

Yeah, Sonic Stage is bloody awful. It constantly crashes in the middle of transfers and seems to hog up all the memory, rendering any other applications useless.

Everytime I open sonic stage, I have to wait a few minutes while virtually everything I've ever uploaded tries to automatically go on the device. Then after it's done chugging at my cpu, I can cancel the unauthorized transfer. All because one day I said 'don't remind me again' instead of 'cancel' or something.

i haven't had any mp3-playing device for a long time, since my minidisc broke, and it's been quite refreshing.
although i did enjoy listening to music while commuting, its annoying seeing everyone constantly 'plugged in'. everyone trapped in chronic isolation.
