...plumbs new depths.

14:37 - Boomkat new releases mail appears in my mailbox. I
read down the list and add a few releases to my crate.

14:46 - By the time I come to check out it's showing out of
stock for 2 of the releases (new Bug and Junior Boys), which
were in stock moments earlier.

I know they're "super ultra rare guaranteed to sell out in 5
minutes, when they're gone they're gone" &etc. &etc. but how
many copies exactly do you think they get? About 5 per
release?

Well obviously you need to purchase each item one at a time
to speed up the process. then you pay postage on ecah one.

They do that anyway when they spilt my order into about 20
different packages for no discernable reason, before
charging me a recorded delivery surcharge for each one.

Did you get my email re: a particular release? That's still
in stock.

I check boomkat every evening Monday to Friday. They often
update stock through the week and if you just rely on the
friday mailout, chances are that some of them will be out of
stock.

By the way, those Junior Boys remixes aren't that great in
my opinion.

I'm shocked a boomkat thread doesn't contain the word
"essential", so here it is.......

essential

Just got an email to say that SAWI LP is back back back back
in stock, but haven't YET got an email saying about them
planning to ship it to me after discovering it was out of
stock last time, so this will be pretty interesting...

They just done this again (split my order up, in spite of
all the records concerned being "in stock" at the time of
ordering). Perhaps if they didn't wait 4 days before
processing my order the items concerned might be in stock?
Who knows, they could even use one of those new fangled
stock systems that I hear computers can run, that actually
assign given stock in the warehouse to a particular order,
so people know that the stuff in their basket when they hit
"confirm" is actually available?

Yeah seriously, why do they keep getting mentioned? They're
fucking expensive too.

yea wicked expensive. i've only bought a few things from
them that i couldn't find here in the US. its not like
forced exposure is any better. their website needed an
overhaul 4 years ago.

i think their write ups suck too
all we need to know is rough genre or what else the artist
did if anything or the key or the tempo, can some it up in
one sentance usually
and i have ordered stock that was supposedly available and
it never came
but don't knock em they have a top shop going there
it is much harder to run such things than to consume them
give em a break
but yeah sure, they should give us a break with the waffle
