this music, this is really the worst thing i could imagine
i cannot stand it
it is great if warp wants to do something different i'm all
for it, but really, for every awful signing they should try
to sign something good, or maybe even every two awful
signings, try to do something right..

Oddioblender afterwards, to rinse my ears.

You must give up listening to music now. Some of you guys
just have inferior ears. Bleedin' ears all fucked up or
something.

It is good and cool music and nothing like hella, who are
also good and cool music. The concept of "math rock" makes
me fucking wince though... whoever coined that one needs a
right slap.

They could actually sing with their own voices, but then
they'd have to write a melody.

I've never cared about Warp, but I feel sorry for the people
who grew up listening to their output. This is worse than
Analord, simply awful.

offline jules from United States on 2007-05-15 15:42 [#02084225]

to me, this has nothing to do with warp...these guys have
had killer ep's out long before warp ever heard of
them...its about a collaberation of different members of
kick ass bands who were already established making something
new...kudos

eh..I heard this wicked Blip Hop mashup of their track SZ2
and was under the false impression that this was their
sound...rude awakening this...what is mathematical about
this Marilyn Manson-Beautiful People beat slowed down..is
beyond me...
okay as an indie rock track this is not bad at all, but
after the false impressions i was harbouring...i want my old
warp back :(

Math rock uses fractals and algorithms and mathematical
formulas to determine how their songs develop and chord
structures and percussions are used. I don't know about
indie rock and whether this is good for it. Its probably not
because I actually like it. I have heard two battles songs,
and I liked both. This song really catches you after
repeated listening.

Haven't a clue. I can kind of hear "atlas" in there and at
the next section "crook" but I haven't a clue about the
rest.
