They've really improved it. I'm pretty much certain I could
move onto using this full time. I do wish I could sync it
with my mobile though. Must be a 3rd party app somewhere
that works. Other than that it's got all bases covered. I
might even set gmail to access websites e-mail as well.
Don't even need Thunderbird then.

Damn, google do have a good suite of products.

I use mine to text me a daily schedule to my mobile, also 10
minutes prior to my lectures to remind me to get off my fat
arse

It's the little things that make it good.

Mmhm, it rules.

I wish they had an API to embed it in websites like they do
with their maps. I'd probably give one of you guy's left
nuts for that functionality.

I just set up their google apps thingie on a
domain that I'm working with, and that's pretty sweet too.

Fuckin' a! I'm going to test that shit out tonight. I can
sync my phone with Outlook so it's pretty much sorted.

Thanks for the link dude!

epohs: Could you use the rss output to do something with the
details?

well, right after i typed that i started looking around, and
i found what may very well be the exact thing i was looking
for..

view your calendar details, click on the little blue [html]
icon under 'calendar address' and look at the configuration
tool.

i have never heard about that, or seen it used anywhere.

sorry dudes, but one of you is likely going to have to give
up their left nut now.

the xml output could probably be used by someone with mad
skillz and made into something awesome.

unfortunately, my mad skillz are lacking.

How bout syncing gmail and thunderbird contacts?..

Whatsa easiest way to do that?

The only time I did that I exported a CSV file from each and
consolidated them. Removed all the crap and, after clearing
out the contacts in each, improted them back in. I don't
know how to keep them in sync though. I'm going to set gmail
to import my sites e-mail through POP now anyway. BEen using
iMap but I can't be arsed. Also the gmail spam filter is
badass.

yep, the import/export cvs thing is what i did too... but,
only once cause it was kinda a shitty pain in the ass.

like, some contacts are in both... some have a mobile phone
in one, and a home phone in the other... or, like i'll have
a physical addresses in gmail for a person, but not in
thunderbird for the same person... handling all that
without losing data or duplicating it is assy.

Yep!

I need to do it again soon as stuff has changed quite a bit
since I last did it. I might do it the next time the boss is
out. It took a couple of hours last time.

direction of a how-to guide for that?

You can do that by combining Google Calender with ifttt.com
