Just watch this channel. See, this is why I don't
understand the anger bad "IDM" stirs up; there's far bigger,
more pressing issues in the world, like the fact that ugly,
fat, sub-human fucks can smear their faces on tv screens
repeatedly and make a lot of money. A nervous, sweet, thin
little child-boy making fart noises on a free VST should
induce sympathetic "ooohs" and "aaahs" when THAT foul poison
exists. At least under Stalin the youth was forced to listen
to great Russian works of music. Freedom produces rubbish.

What would you do in terms of music if you became prime
minister?

...or don't watch this channel, that's the bonus of
freedom - choice! however, some people make very poor
choices.

I would ban the sort of music, and the sort of videos you
see on MTV Base, and send people to boot camps where ONLY
the music of Messiaen, Wagner, Vaughan Williams, Stravinsky
and Rimsky Korsakov was played VERY loud via an amplified
orchestra (players would be doubled up and swap every few
hours or so to keep it continuous.) These dumb witted humans
would gradually grow brains through constantly hearing and
studying actual music, rather then beats, moans, and
non-English talking.

That doesn't describe IDM as well, does it, at all? Or does
it?

Or does it?

Or does it?

Maybe if you took the moans out.

The "moan" sound is a key ingredient to generic IDM; that
sort of low, whirring, RichardfuckingDevine-esque
lawn-mowery spourt that pops out of the SoundScape every so
often.

as slipknot once eloquently put it, 'people = shit', and
they're people so they should know.

MTV Base just shows what they call RnB now, isn't it? I
don't know, I just get the usual MTV which consists of
videos of identikit bands that I imagine are Emo and highly
staged "reality" shows made up of rich teenagers with
ultraviolet teeth.

I don't think there's a Judge in the land that wouldn't
absolve you of all wrongdoing under such conditions.

MTV is shit nowdays. It ceased to be watchable after the
year 2001. A shame too, because MTV Amp was one of the best
TV shows in existence during the latter '90s.

I'm sure the original meaning "Music Television" for which
MTV stood since 1982 has somehow disappeared in recent
years, seeing as how it's almost exclusively reality shows
and soap operas now.

(end rant)

I like "The Lick" with Trevor Nelson.
Smoooooth. "The Late Lick" sometimes has a retro special
with 80s soul, how could get any better than that? Keith
Sweat, Imagination, The Gap Band, frickin' brilliant. There
have been a few good RnB tunes lately, Cassie's "Me and U"
and Kelis' "Bossy" spring to mind. Hip hop has been pretty
boring tho.
