I have decided to show some of my tunes over the next month
or so. Iam starting with my song "Attention Machines". Its a
rough mix and is not the final cut. Please check it out at:

http://sludgg.0catch.com/sludgg.html

Download my song, and let me know what you think of it.
Thank you!

ok, I listened... ummm, it just sounds like noise to me... I
know it's an ambient track, and it's probably the intention
from the title, but it's not really my cup of tea... but, if
it's any consolation, the noise sounds like good noise... if
all that makes any sense...

cross all barriers.. do all sorts of styles, I could never
be stuck to 1 style.

in all honesty i can listen once but i cant see myself
wanting to listen again. Would be better in the backround to
some movie rather then a song.

your song...i think you should turn the volume down a little
bit. i dont really understand the song.

offline REFLEX from Edmonton, Alberta (Canada) on 2002-03-17 00:01 [#00128746]

raimons::. no, but ive seen recently some documentaries on
fjords, rivers and lakes and such, and the pictures of
swedish mountains just amazed me so I watched more.......
they are lovely. Remind me much of the mountains here.

The song creates some sort of mood, the synths need to be
cleaned up and the volume turned down on them, the drums
need to be cleaned up a bit and then a few other edits and
it will be perfect for me.

Hei, fat kaimo. You've made some nice beats, but there's not
enough 'sähköä' in the tracks. More synths with the
beats. Nice download speeds though, I think I maxed out my
bandwidth (~550kb/s).

Ummm. Rephlex... I can't really say your stuff exited me all
that much either. I know you like layers of sub-harmonics
and shit, and I respect that, but if you want my honest
oppinion, there is only so far you can go with art before it
becomes difficult to palate and starts going over its
audiences head.

But I really don't have much of an ear for noise or ambient.

offline REFLEX from Edmonton, Alberta (Canada) on 2002-03-17 20:23 [#00129200]

I guess hardly anyone here has much of an ear for this sort
of music. Which is ok I guess, kinda depressing considering
I thought it was supposed to be a nice community of open
music lovers, but I guess this doesnt work for some people.

offline Taxidermist from Black Grass on 2002-03-17 20:30 [#00129205]
Points: 9958 Status: Lurker

Well, I don't know. I wouldn't take it personally that
people couldn't get into it. It doesn't mean that the people
here aren't open minded. It just means that no one so far
has found your stuff up their alley. Each to their own
right? Don't forget, there are plenty other communities out
there, quite a few who, I am sure, are targeted directly
toward people who appreciate the kind of music you make.
Don't let it discourage you.

hey REFLEX..just as promised here I am..and I will repeat as
i did..I am listening to your songs being cached and played
by the crappy Quicktime:(..
hmm I alsop read most of the thread and kinda understand why
they were a bit bewildered by the tracks...hmm..let's see
the first track...Ambient Machines..reminds me of the likes
of Zoviet France and Arcane device...and also Lull and Final
the side projects of Scorn and Godflesh...an almost
monolithic wall of sound of the first listen but upon
repeated hearing subtle chnages appear...I can't say that it
is something I enjoyed..but then again you didn't exactly
create something like that to enjoy..but I do kinda know
where you are coming from...I think the problem lies in the
fact that you have come up with some very interesting sounds
and textures..and then enjoyed creating em and hearing em so
much that you actually kinda forgot to sculpt or mould them
into a discernable (no matter how abstract) a shape....not a
big problem many people including myself are guilty of
it..moral of the story is..as far as I am concerned you got
some great noises, samples and textures going..now it's the
time to grab a chisel and start sculpting..:)

These kids here just can't appreciate the bare bonz
sound....

Noise is beautiful, its like a magic window sort of thing,
the repetative oscillations of frequencies can sometimes
allow you to create your own melodies, it could be something
that is not there, something you cannot hear, but your mind
plays tricks on you.

Yes, I make noise, some of it rivals merzbow. I haven't got
my best stuff on the web yet, but you can find out more
about what me and the other TavCOM-Records kids do at
www.tavcom-records.com

Thanks and peace. Don't hate reflex anymore because of the
style of music he makes.

noise breaks barriers and literally bridges the gap between
all other genres.
