While I dont have all 350 V.Snares artwork memorized, i like
this one (link me to V.Snares cover)

Ovuca "lactavent"
Rephlex
CAT 081 CD
(1999)

They' say: 'He indeed wass a promising new artist,
until it came to the artwork of his debut album...'

Man thats so cool, yet another reason why i hate living in
the US. i'd be lucky to see him play live once in my
lifetime.

how were the tracks? Has he gone into a new direction or is
it typical lush ovuca/astrobotnia type stuff?

it was great.. the liveset was awesome.. rather ovuca then
astrobotnia imo.. featuring lots of melodic tracks and amen
breaks.. production quality increased a lot imo..

i can't seem to find any just yet, i'm keeping an eye on
boomkat & juno.co.uk as they usually have samples for
rephlex albums. I think i'm going to order my copy next
week.

had this for a couple of days now & enjoying it. according
to these notes i prefer the more recent tracks (2004-5).
the second half of the record i think is stronger. at the
worst moments it sounds like astrobotnia outtakes (still
good though!)

favorite track at the moment:lagrange point

lagrange point is my fav as well for now. i don't care for
astrobotnia either..luckly he didn't go that cheesy here.

yeah black leicester is awesome! lovely echoes&reverb.
sunbath is tasty as well, nice way to finish off the record
with some breaks, it's doing my head in

up to you. i prefer vinyl + it looks nice (not heavyweight
or anything, 'standard' rephlex pressing)

they seem to have been pressed at record industry in
holland
one of only 2 plants to remove their metal with a vacuum
system which prevents those annoying crackles
also virgin vinyl not regrind
i think this "standard" as you say is actually high and has
evolved to be so
zavody in cz for instance all their records are heavyweight
but well pansy audio

'standard' was not meant to be a putdown, your standard
rephlex release is high quality music as well. in recent
years the vinyl has been consistently good.

interesting tidbit about the plant, i didn't know that

i'm all for autumn morning for now:
beautifull quiet and really moving ^^

i love the whole thing, it's varied just enough to keep
interest without losing some kind of global sound,
aleksi is really clever and innovative with little things
that keeps you coming back for more

stop caring about the tuss, this is wonderfull!
