Well, maybe local cultural services give me cash to buy
some stuff, and I'm thinkin' about gettin' this setup:

17" MacBook Pro (3Gb RAM, 7.200 rpm drive)
Apogee Ensemble FW interface
Logic Audio Pro 7.2

Seems like it's built to work flawlesly in combo.
Any idea/suggestion/recomendation?

Taxidermist, this one's for you!

I am the wrong person to talk to in suggestions for a
computer setup involving mac and logic ;P

That said, that seems like a fairly expensive setup, and it
seems like it will work relatively problem free. You must
have something nice in mind to consider spending 3k-4k+

I myself have a new job comming down the pipes. I intend on
getting myself one of these as soon as possible.

Oh, I see... I also have been a PC guy all my life, but
well, if someone pays that for me, and it's the government,
then I don't give a shit if the stuff is overpriced. Also
changin' because the Apogee only works in Mac, and I fell in
love with that gear...

BTW, that Andromeda looks weird (in a good sense)! Kinda
alien spaceship stuff...

Yeah. Its a modern fully VCO polysynth. Its the reason I got
a job and got into gear in the first place. I played with it
the shop a few times and decided "I need one of these. I
will get a job so I can save and buy one". Thats one of the
only two reasons why I am not a homeless drug addicted
wretch right now.

Any thought on TL Audio? I think about gettin' this someday
to warm up my setup...

Well, it certainly looks nice, but I don't know anybody
first hand who has experience with them.

Would the government be paying for that as well? I need a
government like yours that seems willing to pay $$$$ for
music gear. :)

Maybe next year. Current year I ask for the DAW cash...

And our local government, well... I kinda tricked them
(knowing how to do it because I'm an insider, I work for the
cultural services...), but it's been a lot of papers and
work.

Tut tut tut. Hardly independence from the system, is it?
;-P

This does seem a failing of beauracracy the world over; so
convoluted that only those who work for it are able to take
advantage of it.

Indeed. My old flatmate worked for the housing benefits
people (who provide cheap housing to the poor/unemployed)
she used her inside knowledge to jump the queue (waiting
list was up to 18 months) and secure herself a nice flat for
about 1/4 of the going rate, even though she worked full
time.

The only danger I can see in exploiting it in this way is
that people can use it as ammunition to do away with
benefits wholesale.

Also here it's impossible to acess housing benefits if
you're not in...

Our local government is so corrupt it looks like a Mafia.
Go figure, cultural services payed last year a travel to
Eurodisney (cost 8.000 euros) to a bunch of party affiliates
under the excuse of external cultural promotion.
Now the newspapers, the financial police and tax services
are investigatin' them... Hope someone goes to jail (but
that's not gonna happen).

Anyway, worst problems are in the territory/construction
area, soon all the island will be made of concrete and
hotels.

Thats happened here too. Funnily enough, these are the same
people who are setting up organized squats in buildings set
for demolition as a petition to the government to build more
social housing. Its a pity, because their are a lot of poor
people who need housing, and the only people who seem to be
trying to help them are taking all the benefits for
themselves.

It worked!

17" MacBook Pro (3Gb RAM, 7.200 rpm drive)
Apogee Ensemble FW interface
Adam A7 moniors
Mackie Onyx 1220 analog mixer

All paid by the government for me!!!
Can't wait to get my hands on it!

If you are going between access and clavia, see about
getting yourself a Virus TI. It can do anything the clavia
can, plus a lot more (like wavetables and good sounding
filters and a bunch of effects, and it can do 3x the
polyphony.). That said, the sunsyn is practically an
analogue modular in a small case. It can do all analogue,
but also has digital oscilators. 8 voices all told.

Ara ens posarem a cercar patrocinadors i a ajustar el
pressupost.
Altra possibilitat seria no pagar això i sí pagar catxé.

arribi a cobrir-ho tot. Ja veurem...

Per ara les coses estan així...

i per la pasta no et preocupis...

Ok! Ido potser us convendria cobrar el bolo i així gastau

festival...

Això ja està en marxa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
