of course, otherwise..it wouldnt be IDM
im going to spend so much time on one track, its going to
take forever to get a cd's worth..because every sound of the
tracks is going to be meticulously planned...
well, most of them anyways
hahaha
ill post links where you can hear it when i end up getting
the rest of the programs that i need
=]

acronyms that mean nothing.

i make alot of different music
im in a ton of different types of bands, but i need
something to do with the time when i cant play guitar or
drums because the rest of the house is sleeping
IDM is perfect...and its the most interesting shit i have
ever heard

Couldn't you play internet poker or jack yourself or
something else constructive instead of making idm?

This is the future. This is why we must leave IDM behind and
start a new colony elsewhere, a Cultural Year Zero.

I just surprised myself with how cynical i have become in
the last few years. Then i feel better because i read stuff
from people who are in even more cynical than i am here.

good luck...

Isn't better just to make the music you like and not that
tied up in one specific genre?

I'd say so, but then you fall into the trap of having people
hear one particular track, and assign all future and past
works a single genre based on that track, even though you
may run the gamut of genre's.

posting on xlt a few years is like taking an online course
on how to be cynical, bitter, and find most things trite.
let us envy iondivvy and his idm innocence. may xlt never
destroy him, as it has done us.

for fuck sake.. this is exactly why idm is such a stupid
fucking genre.. you dont make idm, you become idm.

maybe, but on the other hand the result could be a bad idm

If you are serious about this, please don't try and make
something clever, subliminal or anything like that. Makes
something that sounds GOOD.

Try to make IDM, but then fail and accidentally do something
good.

i plan on making it, and then adding the subliminal shit in
later
im not planning on basing it around trying to get as much
subliminal stuff in there as i can, i just want to add some
images to the music and stuff like that
im still getting all the programs ready

yea dude, i make all sorts of music in different genres
i do noise music in my band ANAL BUFFET
i do irish goregrind in my band MAHONE
i do melodic death metal in my band ENTRANCE WOUND
and i have fooled around in techno and other things, and
decided that IDM was better than the techno and electronica
that i was making
so yea
=]
