Irony is a dead scene.

Ever since the use of irony became accessible to the masses
of the internet, it's really died a fucking tragic death
under a deluge of idiots who use irony so heavy-handedly
that it's sarcasm without the bite or the passion.

Irony is supposed to be subtle, or at least dead-pan. The
poor excuse for irony I see on the Internet these days is
simply embarrassing.

Stop It.

Yours,

The Association of the True Irony (a.t.i.)

damnit, i thought this was gonna be about the dillinger
escape plan/mike patton ep.

alanis morisette.

Obviously I named it that in a bid to trap Dillinger Escape
Plan / Mike Patton fans into the thread. Awesome Extended
Player.

Irony is quite present i reckon... there are just high and
low levelz.
goes with everything really. Certain ironies can be caught
by some, otherz, or none.

I think "irony" is often used as a catch all insult by
people who want to knock something that they don't feel is
earnest or worthy enough. Miserable cunts.

"Postmodern" is another one people bandy about without
having a fucking clue what it means. When someone whines
about "postmodern irony" then you know they're a real twat.

Ha, yeah - I had considered using the word post-modern in
inverted commas within my original post.

Hollywood Squares, Going Nowhere (for the D.E.P.
fans).

That's maingly because postmodern means different things
within different disciplines.

I realized cartoons like Ren and Stimpy are full of irony
(opposite than what expected happens). Like pixie ren is
about to chisel eye crust from the sleeping giant because
its worth more gold than all the pixie dust in the world and
he reacheas back with his pick in a mighty stance and
thrusts it down on his eyelid looking like full force, then
at the last second he changes to tapping really daintily.

I so recommend buying all the seasons of ren and stimpy-
better than south park, simpsons... There's so much weird on
crack humorous stuff.

sincerity is underrated. without it, the chance of your
tattoo still being acceptable five years from now drops
significantly.

I only ever hear about Irony now on message boards when
pseudo intellects try to belittle others into believing they
know better than others the true meaning of irony and that
they can define it and detect it. While not actually
defining or detecting anything.

well ya see the people who get trendy tattoos in the first
place are so delusional they wont let themselves believe
that their tatts are gay five years later... they'll always
look at them and think wow i was badass. otherwise they
would all kill themselves. becuase in order for them to
think that they actually made a mistake they would had to
have had common sense to begin with, which they don't...
hence their ultimate retardedness.
