I have a VAIO (macs are for fags. see: their commercials) on the way.
From what I understand, there is no way of getting an INTERNAL soundcard. Is this 1000% true?
I'm looking for something with multiple 1/4" inputs and outputs and virtually no latency.
Any ideas?

internal is in fact true - there is no option to change it.
but there is this pcmcia interface you have on the left (i think in vaios on the right - that broad slot that is covered with a plastic shield) where you can stick one of the following cards:
didigram v2 digigram 440
the v2 might be interesting for you - the 440 is so completely overpriced and it has only xlr ins and outs that you rather just look at it and then forget it.
echo indigo io echo indigo dj
two interesting interfaces - the echo io has one small jack in one small jack out, the dj one has two small jacks out. nice is this hardware volume knob which can come in handy in a live situation. those interfaces are really nice when it comes to sound but i have no idea how it does look with performance. i now lackluster has one of those.
e-mu 1616 pcmcia
one of my personal favourite soundcards. you stick in the pcmia card and already have one small jack stereo out and a whole dsp platform (hardware accelerated effects than don't use up your processsor like reverb) and it just sticks out one inch. when you connect the breakout box you have analog 6x6 ins outs, adat, preamps, even a phono preamp fuck hell whatecer you wish to have.
and there is also that rme cardbus option but it is quite obsolete now because rme has already a few firewire interfaces.

Even though my Vaio is the slowest out of all my computers, it has never crashed, while the others, despite ONLY being used for music and the internet, manage to crash constantly. Vaios are great and they look sexy too.

My pick is the motu ultralite as well. Its a nice for its tiny size. Its a nice even if it was three times as big.
