Once everyone's rated in this thread, there need never be another Aphex Twin thread about old stuff. Don't flame those who miss out a release. My memory certainly isn't what it used to be, and I'm gonna use Classics to rate Xylem Tube and Digeridoo 12"s. |

Like me, I'm guessing no-one else can be bothered trawling through the Discography to rate his releases. For the record, I'd like to say that I believe ICBYD to be one of the most over-rated pieces of rubbish ever to be released by Our Master. |

All of his releases have tracks I like, but there's a lot of rubbish on them too, imo. I don't really understand why, when he's supposed to have so many good unreleased tracks floating around somewhere. |

Classics – Music for bald old men SAW 1 – Music for C64 aficionados SAW 2 – Might be fantastic, I always fall asleep after Cliffs HAB, HAB 2, AB1, AB2, AB3, AB4, AB5 – A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away I listened to and enjoyed these records. But AB5 is awesome! I’d pay over $3000 for it 26 Mixes – Remember when this came out? And everyone said how pretty the digipack was? Yeah… ICBYD – Shampoo and Teen Wolf, otherwise pointless RDJ – 4! Cornish Acid! And a whole lotta rose-tinted glasses! Drukqs – Well he had to make a decent album eventually. There is one here somewhere… Chosen Lords – I couldn’t listen to all the Analords, let alone pick the best tracks Girl/Boy EP – I’d rather eat a bacon sandwich Come To Daddy EP – Good stuff, but ‘Firestarter’ does this so much betterer Somjphace – Run The Place is actually amazing. The second side is the pinnacle of music and cannot be defeated. Windowlicker – I don’t like this track coz it makes fun of mongoloids Caustic Window, Surfing On Sin Waves, Donkey Rhubarb, On, Ventolin – You have too much free time Analord – Well I liked that long one that was on the first one. Or was that the last one? Whatever, stupid name anyway. |

"I still don't understand how people keep on rating drukqs so highly." admittedly, it is too long and some drill'n'bass tracks have got annoying to my ears (especially the "come on you cunts let's have some aphex acid" one)... but there are many very good tracks on it too (i'm fond of the piano ones but not only), and its "sound" and construction (drill'n'bass + piano!) is quite unique. i could go as low as rating it 3/5, but i don't think it deserves less. |
