Hi It has come to my attention that there are quite a few talented musicians on this board. I think someone with a bit of vision and talent for organising things (e.g. Phobiazero) should get people to submit tracks to go onto a compilation. I know it's been suggested before, but nothing's ever come of it. We could effectively set up a record label with the people from this board. The CD of music could be sold for a nominal fee and this would result in greater coverage for all involved. Even those people who have stuff on other labels or whatever, one track is hardly going to screw things up for you, is it? It would be the ultimate souvenir for all those who regularly write on the board, a musical cross-section if you will. We should avoid using the name "Aphex Twin" as I would like to think that we are all artists in our own right, not just Aphex fans trying to emulate his style. What do people think? Someone get the ball rolling! I'd do it myself, but I lack the time, ability and contacts to do it effectively! My music can be found at http://www.yorklabs.co.uk/manicminer and if we were to go ahead with a compilation, I would contribute the track "Dark". |

Thats the shit mate. I like that idea but I dont put my music onto mp3 but I record em onto MD. Still, love the idea.... anyone else?? |

however, if i do xperimenting, it goes to md, if i really produce it goes to recorded on pc, mastering and editing, save for wav then to DAT or CD. i agree with you fernz.. |

Loads of planning are required to make something good and professional of this. If won't have ANYTHING to do with Aphex Twin. Remixes or covers of existing tracks are not allowed. More info to come. |
