My dad went to the same high school as Whitley Strieber..

Anyway, I've heard the book's great.. meant to read it for
years.

years after writing Communion, he admitted that he made it
all up... which turns it from a terrifying account of
abduction into a pretty crap bit of sci-fi that needed some
underhanded marketing to sell

that said, he's still peddling his books as fact - and a
quick search on google couldn't turn up his admission of
making it all up - so maybe i'm the one making it all up....
i can't explain the fact that i woke up with my wellies on
this morning...

yeah sorry mate - the book terrified me too. i read it when
it came out and got the follow up, Transformation. i was
well into UFOs in those days.

it does seem like he's still doing the circuits talking
about his 'experiences' but it's all a bit airy fairy
(literally) - and i swear i read an article where he
admitted to making it up - but couldn't find it online.

apparently he had another alien book out last year called
The Greys... but it's billed as fiction this time - make of
that what you will.

that's not true. he's unquestionably been the target of
numerous smear campaigns, and your assertion is absolutely
false.

he has acknowledged that he does not know for certain the
origin of his experiences or the "visitors," as he calls
them, but never has he stated that the book was a fiction.

he did indeed base some novels on not only his experiences
but others' as well. "the greys" (which i have not read)
was a novel that attempts to deal with his personal
experiences in a fictional context. in my opinion he has
never misrepresented this fact.

whatever his faults, in my experience he's pretty
forthcoming about the gaps in his knowledge and
understanding.

okay i stand corrected - it was years ago when i read it and
there was no internet to do any further research, so i just
took it as read.

as i've got older i've found it harder to continue to
believe in the idea of UFOs and alien doodads. even the
disclosure project only raised a 'meh'

anyone have any convincing videos?

full version of disclosure project video if anyone's
interested:

pretty convincing - unless you come at it from the point of
view that these people are lying or have been misled - much
like whitney strieber's stuff
