I was standig out on my balcony, listned to BoC's first track "Live on ATP 07/04/2001)" and stared up to the sky, saw the stars and i ask me again, does life exist there. i think it's hard to prove that something exist out there, also it's hard to prove that nothing exist out there... but i believe on another lifeform..

Well ofcourse, I look at it logicly, because thats the only way for me considering we dont know otherwise 100% for sure anyways right?
The size of just our solar system... wait no... the size of our galaxy alone must be proof enough there is some sort of life out there!
Let alone the whole universe....

With a universe that is supposedly infinite, how can there NOT be life????
If it keeps going forever, the possibilities of life must go forever as well, dont you agree?

all that happens when i think about this and the universe is that my head feels like exploding.... cos outside of our galaxy maybe the rules logic and physics dont apply quite the same...?

Ill tell you what baffles my mind is the fact that god,,,,if there is a god which i think there has to be, must have always existed.
And then my brain just goes back and forth to how can something begin without a beginning?

ya i think there is definitly life out there..
given the HUGE size of the universe... chances are life must have started up in places other than earth
its probably just going to be really hard to find.. not only with the huge distances involved, but within time too
the only way we would be able to detect them is if they existed at the same time we do.. AND at the same level of technology
think about it: if they were only 100 years behind us in terms of technology, we would have no way of knowing they're there
but if they are ahead of us, they probably would have ways of communication that we could not even imagine, let alone interpret
but then when we actually get out there im sure our definition of life will change too.. right now we assume life needs water, oxygen, and temperatures that WE have on earth.. but c'mon, use ur imagination
im sure other types of life could exist..

AMinal - great point.
The earth is god knows how old, like 2.5 billion years or so. So, What are the possibilities that another planet just happens to be going through a huge communication revolution around the same 5 years as us? If we ever do find life i would think it would be fossils that would suggest life or life in the making like cute lil amobeas or something like that.
Think about that though, 2.5 billion years earth has been here, and just in the past 100 years we have the technology to look for life. And who knows how long life, at least humans, will exist on earth, maybe another 500 years? Kind of discouraging, im not sure if finding life would be possible unless they found us.

Every galaxy, at some time or another, must have one planet capable of sustaining life, but the life of our human race, as a percentage of the life of planet earth must be so small that the chances of us existing at the same time as a lifeform in another solar system is very small...?
