Quality album. Nas is so focused these days...plus the
inclusion of the acapella at the end is a nice touch...I am
going to stick a beat behind it as soon as a find a chip
tune melody to steal.

hmm.. I was kind of ready to be disappointed by this,
especially considering streets disciple. I think I only
listened to that like three times since I got it...

eh

I thought I had written the end there.. it was supposed to
get at something like "really? has he gotten his act back
together?" and then maybe "recommend me some representative
samples from the album so that I won't buy another one that
I'll never listen to."

Dunno. I like Nas (ignoring the I Am, through to Nastradamus
phase)...maybe other people with taste in music that isn't
as good as mine won't like it much.

I'm going to try to avoid downloading the whole thing; If I
like it I'll get the vinyl anyway, but downloading all of it
may delay this course of action.

but I found samples (full songs) on the official nas page,
so never mind.

I was just reading about this album yesterday. I'll give it
a whirl; haven't really ever got into listening to Nas.

sounds ok-to-good from the samples (they weren't all full
songs).

I wouldn't even say classic myself...but lets say if the Wu
managed to put something out of this level of quality I
would be more than happy.

Yeah i like it but theres some very dodgy tracks, and I've
always been a big Nas fan. Hiphoppers are going nuts over
Black Republican, but I think its awful, very much in the
style of Jay-Zs recent shit output. Hiphop Is Dead is
fucking spot on tho, its nice when Nas actually gets some
rhythm in his delivery. I really like Money Over Bullshit
too, his bragging style is entertaining.

these two lines really made me laugh the first time I
listened to it, i think he might take himself a bit too
seriously now
"Black fish eggs nigga, thats the caviar"

"Friday somebody gotta die day, saturday put the gat away"

So yeah didnt really restore my faith in Nas, Gods Son wasnt
quite my cup of tea either but Stillmatic still gets played
quite often.

It has some great songs on it.. but why does it always have
to have ho's, money, bidges, niggahs etc in it..? I know
it's the scene and all but it's just shitty.

Like the start of Not Going Back which trully is an exellent
song but I don't really can stand the intro.

I'd rather have "Nasty Nas" to "Nas Escobar"

I think he does take himself a little serious at times
though.

so then punk, pop, and hip hop are all zombies now or what?
cuz that would explain a lot if that were to actually be the
case.
