I tend to like sort of minimalistic art... so I think I
would have to chose one of ae's releases. can't decide which
one though. probably confield or ep7.

Easily "Fast Asleep" by funki porcini...
http://www.down-tempo.net/fp_fa.htm

This just doesn't show off the detail at all. Basically,
it's a room with a woman asleep on a rug on the floor (which
looks like a CPU schematic) and the walls are made out of
synths & musical equipment and say "Funki Porcini" and "Fast
asleep".

It's so good I nearly ordered the vinyl just for a bigger
copy of the cover art :)

The best album art ever was done by the Beatles.

Sgt. Pepper
Abbey Road
The White Album
Revolver
Rubber Soul
Help
With the Beatles

They've all been made fun of and satirized MILLIONS of
times! And imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

has anyone heard of Boom Bip

the paper cover with the coffee stains and the swirly
booklet. when you put the booklet into the paper cover, the
art makes the bar code through the outside cover.

the inside cover of "Eat A Peach" by the Allman Brothers...
a very surreal, trippy landscape... i love it.

Iron Maiden covers are horrible but still i like them
because you can stare at them for hours and discover little
funny subtle details that the artist has implented.
My brother has all their albums.
I especialy like the covers to "Power Slave" and "Somwhere
in Time"

A swedish hardcore/funk/Punk band called Teddybears STHLM
released a album called "you are teddybears"
The cover was a blue and yellow (swedish flag's colours)
pentagram.
Brilliant!!! wish i came up with that first!

interesting you should mention the cure's bloodflowers,
pantalaimon. I also like that cover .. but it all seems
likda cheaply done.. I don't know, like on the back the
tracks are listed like in Times New Roman or something..
nevermind, the cover itself rocks!
additional favorite art:
electric company - (all of it!) esp. slow food, exitos
autechre - basscadet, envane
aphex twin - rdj LP
prodigy - fat of the land (just the art, seriously!)
kid 606 - p.s. i love you
sonic youth - murray street
