i had heard FSOL were good, however i bought Accelerator
and to put it bluntly its crap. I'm gonna take it back next
week and get another cd, should i get another FSOL album or
should i get Geogaddi? Decisions decisions....

Get Geogaddi

Yeah, Geogaddi is a classic, but if you like UK ambient
techno style stuff then you can't beat Orbital...

yeah Papa New Guiniea is good, very good and a track i heard
on the net from Dead Cities was excelent. If HMV had dead
cities in i prob would have got that. What is lifeforms
like?

I am not even that keen on Papua New Guinea but Dead Cities
is marvelous one of my all time favourite album..and in a
similar vein is ISDN..life forms ia ambience taken to it's
very limits..not bad..but I prefer their darker more twisted
excursions..(i.e Dead Cities and ISDN :))

Lifeforms is incredible. It's my favourite album from FSOL.
Lifeforms is electronic artificial life and it awakes in
your stereo speakers...

Yeah, life forms is a much nicer listening experience...
they kind of lost it after that...

ISDN feels more organic, like they did it on a shoestring,
and just sent it out the the punk rock style they are.

Lifeforms is one of my favourite albums. Defintly give FSOL
another try. Dead Cities and ISDN are both amazing too. I
really like the My Kingdom single as well.

There was a documentary on the French architect,
Noveau(sp?), shown here a couple of years ago. Anyway, they
played some of the Cascade ep as bg-music, part2 I think. It
was an awesome match between music and imagery.

is my kingdom worth getting if you already have Dead
Cities?
ISDN sounds like it does because it's like a live
performance of sorts broadcast directly on ISDN channels

The inlay is rather good i think. All those wierd trippy
images and then thier punk rock manifesto.

My Kingdom is definitly worth getting. It's atmosphere is a
little more like lifeforms than Dead Cities though. Much
more organic ambient electronic. I actually play it more
than Dead Cities because it flows so well. Not that DC
doesn't flow but MK is amazing.

i'm guessing accelerator is the weakest of their albums
then? trust me to get that one :)

i think i'm gonna replace it for lifeforms, thanks for the
advice!

Accelerator was good for it's time and mood (nascent trance
scene) but now sounds too happy and formulaic (even though
FSOL devised some of those formulas:))...

Buy all the albums. They are all classic. And dont forget to
buy the early Humanoid single too.

(if you find it)

ISDN, Lifeforms, Dead Cities. All good. Nothing like
Accelerator, which I think is shit too.
