went to this place the other week. im trying to find some folk who are in to talk of other dimensions etc. thing is it had a cutly feel about it. really nice folk organising it and right up my street when it comes to the concepts discussed. however im unsure if it is wise to join one of the chambers. has anyone had any experience of the gnostic society in the uk?

i would be careful, they have some pretty radical beliefs, here is something i got from a website:
we are pluriforms of God voluntarily descended to this prison world voluntarily losing our memory, identity and supernatural powers (faculties), all of which can be regained through anamnesis We did not sin and we were not punished; we elected to descend. Why? To infuse the divine into the lowest strata of creation in order to halt its decomposing
i dont know about you, but to me its a bit too much to think about

I don't think I, however charitable I may have been feeling, would have elected to lose my supernatural powers and be reborn defenceless and clueless in south London. I'm sorry, lower strata, if that upsets any of you.

all religious beliefs have a clever way of sucking you in, my friend studied world religions and he told me each one has this wierd power over you, sucks you in, so you have to have a strong mind, it's better to be skeptical. there s nothing wrong in believing in god, but that's it, just accept that god probably exsists but no one knows anything about it. when you start believing some crazy idea like the one i posted, you will end up in a mental hospital

The old gnostics are different from the new gnostics. True Gnostism died out around the time rome started to embrace the catholic church and was eventually stamped out by the holy roman empire. They are sometimes thought to be the earliest form of christianity.
They had all the same books in the accepted christian bible plus others that were not canonized at nicea or hippos

Our body language, our choice of language: two examples of Brainwashing. Turn on the TV and watch a few advertisements for examples of visual and linguistic Brainwashing, and read a few tabloid newspapers for further examples of linguistic Brainwashing. It's an everyday occurrence. Brainwashing isn't Bad or Evil per se

Oh, but your subconscious does, as pointed out hilariously by Derren Browne, who subconsciously Brainwashed two Advertising men into designing something almost exactly as he wished them to.

they had a selection of books to read during the duration of the study, 60, they did not say they had to be purchased, but one assumes they would say i think it is a good idea to make such purchases to aid development. i got 'wrong' sort of for having a crowley tattoo.

You have a Crowley tattoo? On your upper arm? Is it the iconic image of him staring straight at the camera, his intense eyes piercing the viewer?
