pretty good, if i heard it on the radio i wouldnt skip it,
id be interested in what you could do with some vocals over
the whole track, and not just the intro vox.

make a whole cd of that sort and id be intersted, vocals as
needed, where you please

(sidenote: are you in california now, for good, or just
chillin' for a bit)

I was there for a week. Well 3 days. The other days were
spent driving my piece of shit car the 3000 miles. Haha.

I've been back since the day before New Years.

Yeah, I'd love to do more like this. About lyrics, I have no
idea what I would sing about, haha.

Thoughts:

First thing that strikes me is, that something is wrong with
the mix. The shekka shekka shekka is maybe a bit to loud to
my taste.

Impressive that you do all the instruments. Takes actual
talent.
The guitar sounds too "off" at times.

The melody doesnt do anything for me, and i don't get that
feeling of wanting to listen to it again.

That said, it sounds as good as most of those "the" bands
out there right now.

It's very exiting that you have the ressources to do this
sort of thing now, but it shines through that it's your
first time doing anything like this.

It's very promising, in the sense that you will be able to
do some very interesting things with your music now.

I would like to hear some pop music from you. Maybe write it
first on your guitar or something, whatever you like the
most, then make a basic electronic version of it, then
record drum tracks on top of that, guitar etc. and
experiment, and try finding a unique sound.

Try listening to Ariel Pink.

I always like listening to your stuff, and i can sense that
your talent has evolved every time i hear something new from
you.

I REALLY looking forward to listening to whatever you will
come up with in the future. Christ... you are so young. In
the future i will be able to boast that i new you before you
where famous :)

Good luck!

I wish I knew more about the recording process and how to do
it better and about mixing and all the tricks and
everything. That would help me so much I think.

Thanks for the advice and words.

have to think about it.

Write about it in a humoristic point of view!

God, do not write about your own life.

Good - it's very hard to do it with class. Leonard Cohen is
a consummate example of sublime lyrics with a memoir
flavour.

I could be cliche and rap about "my life" though, and how
tough it is.

Please don't. Slip on a Slick Rick cut; you'll seen be
disabused of such notions.

Haha. Ok, here's the thing. I don't write lyrics anyways, so
don't worry. The words and singing on my tracks with singing
come from my friend Andy. He's good with that kind of thing.

I write lyrics if you ever need any. One of my poems from my
teenage years, Napoleon, was picked by a local band and
turned into a song. Never heard it myself, but I'm sure my
lyrics were the best thing about it.

Do you sing? How are you with hearing a song and writing
something/recording over it. That's how Andy and I work,
it's great I think.

I sing sometimes. I've spammed a few vocal tracks on
Xltronic from time to time. I remember Ophecks liked a track
called "Some Place Better", which is also one of my
favourites. I'm a passable singer.

I'd enjoy hearing this sometime. I know I don't have the
best voice for singing, myself, but I do it anyways. With
practice and listening back on my mistakes, I hope to learn
to sing from it.

I really want to self-harmonise, but I've never had the
right soundcard to be able to do it effectually.

retro rock sound. i like it. tamborine haha. good use of
the tamborine. actually i think the shit mixdown kinda ADDS
to the quality of this track.

It's not all hard. I have a terrible sound card and I found
it possible to do.

the tambourine sample in. Haha

I figured out a way to write about my life and have it make
sense. I think.

LAZY_TITLE

Song about how I need to fucking grow up, and start acting
"normal".
