lazy link

the track is.. quite honestly, it's very boring. It does
nothing in particular except add new drums and the bass
(where's the melody?! a melody needs more than one repeating
bar) is the same throughout it all. It's got a quite obvious
tracker buildup, and.. well.. you need to work a lot more on
it, get something going, and get it to go somewhere and not
just be the same from beginning to end.

I quite enjoyed that track. I'd say it's the sort of thing
that would work well in a party through a big soundsystem.
It's fun and builds up in a pretty regular fashion.

You should listen to the two tracks under it and tell me
what you think of those as well.

purely coincidentally i listened to this earlier and it died
half way through (maybe because it was still processing?) i
agree with comments from both the literal drunken mastah
(squidgy melody needs variation) and the honorary CS2x
(sounds like it would be brill at a party). i would like to
add that i really like the break! i shall check out the
other tunes now.

haha, tape deck blues is, trumpet aside, 100% like the first
song me and my mate ever did! We used a friend trying to
sing the note C (it's incredible how many notes C is
according to him) instead of the trumpet, but those are the
same chords and the same progression.. we even used flute
like that! we also had a violin. It's a nice track, but you
need to work on progression again; it doesn't feel like a
full track, but rather like the begging of a track because
it doesn't go anywhere, but rather adds to itself. If this
track was a person he'd be obese.

word problems is good, better than the others, but suffers
from the same "going nowhere" problem. There's a point, just
before you're scratching "word problems," where the song
really should go into chorus or secondary melody mode or
something to keep the interest up and then you could return
to the original theme later, making the song both longer and
better. Where do you get your trumpet sounds? If you're
playing it yourself, there's lots more fun to be had with it
than what you're doing and that would still fit this kind of
music.

the last one doesn't seem to work for some reason. Oh well,
I'm pretty sure you need to work on the progress there too.

The melody made it much better. The squiggle percussion beat
soon after made it worse. The change didn't have enough
change. Gets better with more snares n shit. vocalish sounds
don't sit well with the rest. then everything comes back
after the minimal 'breakdown' and is pretty much the same...
I give it a 7 kangaroos out of H frogs.

I love the brutalness of the review but its what i expected.
I havent been making this type of music for all to long so
any feedback is good feedback! And at Mastah the trumpet is
some .rex files i found on the net dont quite remember where
though.

Structurally it is boring. It takes a long time to get to
where it's going, one boring layer, a predictable spackle
atop more and more uninspired snooze-loops. Then when it
finally gets there, you almost miss it as it is only
marginally less boring then that which came before it.

i think the hard part with the first one and the last one is
context... what i would suggest is giving them to some of
your more DJ minded friends... or dj and try mixing them
against jungle tunes you like and want to emulate some of
the styles of.

1) it would help you get a better feel on what your tracks
are missing or where you've over produced a track

2) it also will help with you understand your jungle tunes
in context of how it would be appreciated.

the other stuff i can't help you with... but the jungle...
easily enough to turn into something more polished with some
messing around with them....
