ok guys, it's come to that time where i'm desperate, and i
thought i'd give xltronic members first dibs at making
offers on my gear.

i'm putting everything up for sale, which includes the
following:

MC-202
TB-303 with 5-port Kenton CV/Gate mod
TR-606
TR-808 with Groove Electronics MIDI Retrofit
TR-909
Elektron Machinedrum
Nord Lead 2x (US version with UK step down transformer)
Atari Falcon030 14MB with Compact Flash retrofit

any reasonable offers will be considered, and since some of
these items are quite large it may be easier for pickup from
Widnes, Cheshire (close to Warrington, St. Helens,
Runcorn).

contact me by email for further information. email address
found in my profile.

it's gonna kill me, but i need the money and i'm sure
there's people on here who will put the gear to better use
than i ever could.

Sorry to hear it and good luck!

Its a damn shame you have to get rid of such an excellent
setup. You sure theres absolutely no other way you can get
some cash?

i know man, it really is gonna bring tears to my eyes when
they go, but realistically it's more logical to sell the
gear at this point in time.

maybe in the future when i can afford to i can re-acquire
some of them, but all i can say is - it was good while it
lasted!

:*(

i could try selling my body, but i'm sure this skinny set of
bones isn't good for a blowjob to a wrinkly old man

so the gear is the only stuff i have that's valuble!

I know you are being nice and all, but if I were you I would
really try to milk the value of your 303 808 and 909. You
could get enough to put a down payment on your own apartment
with all that gear. Its worth so much, and they are very
nice machines, that it wouldn't be worth selling that for
anything but.

That said, there are some nice people at the vintage synth
explorer messageboard that litterally spend thousands a
month on that kind of gear. Provided you keep things within
a reasonable asking amount you will get what you want/need
for all that stuff.

Honestly, this is kind of disheartening. I would love to
make an offer but christmas killed me. I don't know how I am
going to pull through this month, but I know I will. I just
have to make sacrifices. I have quit smoking, so that should
help.

Just ebay them and spam around a few forums I spose. If you
need the cash desperately, theres no point being generous.

Are you sure you are ready to take such a big step? Did you
just come to this conclusion today? I mean, thats a big
step. I take it the relationship is either going to good or
not good enough?

i'd rather steer clear of eBay, for the simple fact that
these items are huge and will cost a lot for postage. not
only that, but eBay is fucking ridiculous for charges.

i'd rather sell to people i can trust, and this community
here at xltronic is the best i know

Dude. Just sell the machinedrum and the nord lead. Those are
easy to come buy. Keep the vintage stuff. All indications
seem to be that they are only going up in price.

yes, i'm ready
the relationship finished in october, with absolutely no
going back. check my myspace if anyone doesn't believe me.
she's not on my friends list or anything.

but that's not the catalyst for me coming to this decision.

1. if i keep the gear it will take me a long time and a lot
of money to get it down here (will need to rent a van, pay
someone to drive it, etc)

2. even if i do get hold of it all, i will need to spend
quite a lot of money on cables, mixing desk, recording
equipment, etc etc etc

3. i'm having doubts i'm even good enough to be worthy of
using hardware anyways.

yes, it's fucking fantastic to be able to use the real deal.
i'll never ever forget using the gear. but come on - i'm not
exactly the best artist on xlt, and i've not got much output
to show for my nearly 3 years of owning the hardware due to
my circumstances. i don't think my situation will change
anytime soon, and i think someone else would get better use
out of the gear.

You don't need to pay for the postage though. If these come
with the original boxes/packaging, then they shouldn't be
difficult to send via courier. But yeah, I think ebay take
around 3/4% of the final sales cost which could take a nasty
dent out of your pocket. But remember, you may find you get
more money on ebay that anywhere else simply because there
are more people who are gonna see your items for sale.

Props for letting us know though. I wish I had the cash for
some of them, but i'm hardly rolling in money either :)

Good luck.

postage and ebay costs arent so bad... royal mail postage
will be £10ish and you can overcharge people, they dont
seem to mind. Thats what I'd do... I dont think I could
offer you anything other than a terrible price for any of
those things, although id like a 202/606/909 quite a lot

Damn, Oscillik I'd love to buy the 202 at a reasonable
amount to help you about, but I am v. hard up at the moment.

Try ebay and specify collection only? Take some nice pics of
the 303 from all angles in decent light and big it up with
all the blurb, if it's in good condition you should get a
grand with the current trend.

christ you can't even get a mcjob? Surely you have some
qualifications? Why don't you just wear a suit and walk into
office angels, i imagine you have some reasonable office
software skills.

DAMN!..... i feel your pain and know what it's like to go on
hard times. If you can save atleast the 909 and the 303 you
could still make some crazy acid techno... well that and the
machine drum would be sweet.....

but eBay it up and get a job doing something... anything
till you get settled again.

be a landscaper or a janitor or anything. sounds like you've
got alot of stuff to recover from emotionally. A good
physical job even if it's for 1 or 2 months will help you
get back into your own head again. Physical activity is
heaven to those days when you spend all day thinking why why
why...

I'd like to say "Oh hang onto them", but I think it was a
foolish endeavour to pick up all these toys in 2006, unless
you're already an established musician or if you've got
something going on, a studio or something. This approach of
"If I buy all the X0X machines and then just hook them all
up.. magic will happen"... not really. I don't want to crow
but then I read something like "the relationship finished
in october.... check my myspace if anyone doesn't believe
me....she's not on my friends list or anything.
" and I
realise I must have left planet earth some time ago.

on a positive, and arguably blasphemous side: perhaps the
selling of your vintage collection allows you to make a
fresh start, and move on...

good luck and all

would say keep them, get a job for godsake, you'll have to

suggest there's a bedroom IDM musician every 2 yards, in
Dorking alone.

You are talking about the offering them to the community but
you are also obviously holding out for the most you can
get.

Why not just type prices in the region of what you are
looking for/what you paid for them and I am sure you would
get a lot more interest.
