love these pads youve been using lately, and when you fuck
around with them. interesting beat, im a bit familiar with
that bouncy delay so its nothing special to my ears, but you
pulled off something nice with it.

And Im not going to stop badgering you in your spam threads
to send some of your older stuff my way till you do.

thanks for getting back to me on that btw :)

that sounds awesome.

this track is very nice by the way, your production is
excellent. like Gwely says your pads are ace. your drums are
wobbly and bop along in a pleasurable manner. i actually
quite like this which is high praise considering ive gone
off of this kind of stuff recently.

that track itself is quite nice but those 808 beats just
make my ears bleed. the same drum with other samples could
sound quite rough.

i just mean - fuckin hell you have a MACHINEDRUM !! you can
make billions of different drum sounds with different
techniques, different synth sections, filters, effects fuck
god knows whatever.

and you're using 909 sounds... ohmygod

tone down the drums and you've got a great track!

I didn't think there was anything wrong with the level of
the percussion.

I thought that this was really quite nice. Threr was a
little time in the middle bit that i thought went on a
little too long but apart from that. It's all good!

: )

yeah i usually have drums real loud because -- literally i
do know how to lead drums with a melody or a bassline or
anything, well, i do, i can throw a bassline down but it's
not melodic its just noise, but, it sounds fucking ill . i
just like to make ill sounds

What I like best about cygnus is his modesty. Admit it Paul
you just don't recognise ILL sounds...yeah yeah you may have
got played on Radio 1 but you don't know ILL lad.

btw, how's things?

All good my friend. Very, very busy! Taking a break from
writing at the moment. Starting to get back into the swing
of it now.

skink: 'do' should say 'don't, i dont know how to write a
melody for shit -- i think i overcompensate at times by
throwing in a mess and it usually sounds bad to me

briancarb: i wasntn trying to say anything like that, i was
just trying to explain what im going for personally when i
do something, im sorry if it came off as a front or
something

haha ignore me mate i was just pissing about.

the track is alright...the headphones I am wearing at the
moment at too low end heavy and the beat is busting my ear
drums.

I agree with sadist, Im all for classic drum machine drums
but in this context its a bit boring, distort them a bit or
use some clickier bleepy noises. But its a really good
track.

dunno, it sounds pretty stupid when I read back what I said.
my first thought was that the drums sound too clean and
normal, which brings the track into the realm of 'great xlt
amateur track' and not just 'great track'

I really like this one. One of your best i think. very
clean. very playful. definitely aquatic, perfect title for
this track. it is also very humble..? like not flashy or
programming muscle-flexing, but still interesting. yeah i
like it.

thanks man --

my mind was on cephalopods/octopi when making it, like,
what does an octopus listen to, and, is all of the deep sea
dark?

sounds very light, like you made it without too much effort,
spontaneously. the bass line sounds interesting, although
there's slight lack of bass in the track. overall - pleasant
listening.
