the mighty boosh

I know liking the mighty boosh has all sorts of negative
studenty "I'm craaaazzzy and surreal!"-type baggage, but I
really can't help but find it funny. Like "Look Around You"
and "Spaced", it's got exactly the sort of daft,
inoffensive, bizarre humour I love, and the interplay
between the two main characters is especially entertaining.
Looking forward to the third series.

the mighty boosh 3rd series, and the second in the "life on
mars"series are two of the things that will make 2007.

been getting worse since they moved to TV... slightly
worried the 3rd series will be awful.

I haven't heard the radio series, but I thought the second
series was more inventive and amusing than the first.

I might just be warped by having heard the radio series
first, and I probably know it off by heart. they sound like
they just had improvised conversations where they tried to
make the storyline more bizarre just to make the other one
laugh. then TV series 1 was mostly just slightly more stale
versions of those shows. I liked bolo when he didnt make
sense, could he speak or not?=lol and bob fossel too. naboo
is just a bit shit. they should just base it more on absurd
banter rather than going to craaazy new places and meeting
craaazy new people every time. I dunno. second series was
still good, old greg is a great invention. yeh

i read somewhere that the 3rd in the series was gonna be
darker and more obscure.

"Darker and more obscure" sounds good.

I like the musical references, like in the first series
Vince snipes at Howard by calling face plain and boring and
"ambient, like The Orb's third album."

oh and on the subject of the mighty boosh. its alright.
going to see it live ruined it for me though. i had a great
time while i was there, thought they were awesome and
whenever anything went wrong they handled it really well.
perhaps a little TOO well... my mate went to see them again
and said that every little bit had been scripted, every
accident and mistake. for some reason that really pissed me
off.

I had a very similar experience. cant say it really ruined
it for me but as I said above their improvised conversations
were what I really wanted to see. I'll have to check out the
live dvd sometime.

Hmmm, that interesting. I don't mind. When i saw it it was
still very funny. I watched the dvd of it the other day. It
wasn't quite as funny. Still good though.

green wing. although they rely on that slow down speed up
camera trickery too much.

you obviously didnt see that 2hr special which was horrible
shite... although the whole second series was poor in my
eyes

I just watched the Boosh live DVD. It was funny, but it
seemed a lot darker than the tv series. I don't mind lots of
swearing and jokes about having sex with the stumps of
severed heads, but one thing I enjoyed about the series was
it's focus on being bizarre and daft rather than shocking.
The moon shouldn't swear! Hearing him say "fuck" and the
fact that he needed a wank felt a bit forced and
out-of-place imho.

There were still a lot of great moments, though...

I love the Mighty Boosh. I really liked the introductions
they did in the first series and I wish they had done it for
the second one.

I am the mooooon, everyone look at the mooon....

The other thread that was here a few days ago got me
interested, and because I had a few days off I thought I
would check it out. I've watched all of series 2 and 3, and
most of series 1.

And I like it :)

Favourite episode is probably "The Party".
Favourite character is Bollo or Naboo (or Ian Harrison).

Ha! I feel like a 12 year old!

Can anyone recommend their absolute favorite episode of this
show? The couple clips I watched on youtube didn't seem very
funny. Not un-funny, just not as hilarious as people like to
make it seem.

"Bollo" i think was my favourite, with monkey-hell.

I think it's quite character-based, I mean it'll seem funny
once you know Howard Moon and what he's about, as well as
Vince...
