i know this is electronic music board not electronics, but
i also know theres lots of knowledgeable people here who can
either give me advice/information, or guide me to where i
can get advice/information.

the problem? my tv makes loud terrible buzzing noises
(despite the volume, dvd can be paused) when theres a lot of
white on the screen. any help?

hah. no it most definitely is not!
i had an old telly, that did the same thing, and that tv
broke after a fair run. and then my dads all like 'son, i
got me a tv, you can have it.' so i have it now, and it has
its flaws but its better than the old one. but after
watching some movies and such on it, the buzzing is driving
me mad. whenever theres alot of white its just this terrible
loud ERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.

Is it like a really high sine wave? I get that on mine.
Don't know how to fix it.

Maybe play with your tv settings. I have had that on a few
different computers.

Just curious, do you use your tv for games?

its probably the mains AC. it should make a buzz at 50Hz.
dunno why you can hear it through the speakers though. my
old Sony hi-fi does it sometimes.
