I met a girl over 2 years ago, at an art school. She was seeing someone else at that time, and i was completely cool with that. We became great friends, and joked a lot and such, and i even liked her boyfriend quite a lot. She broke up with him a year ago, and we continued our platonic relationship in spite of that. Just having a nice, platonic relationship, that was really magical. 3 months ago we slept together. We where very drunk. It was kind of shitty, as she had her period that day, and i ended up pissing out her blood the next day (i have no idea how this happened, but it did) I called her the next day, to say that we should just continue being friends, and she agreed. It was just drunken stupidity we said. (that same day, i was with another girl, and almost got beaten up because of it) After that, the friendship was still magical, but also had the dimension, that we kissed occasionally. Only while drunk, mind you. I then became more and more fond of her (these last 3 months) and we saw each other more and more. I eventually falled in love with her. New years eve, she hooked up with this danish celebrity. An ugly motherfucker, but he's a rich musician. I was jelaous as never before in my life. She calls me up to say, that she doesnt really like him, and she want's to break up and so forth. I'm happy. I invite her over to a dinner today, to tell her how i feel. I cook some nice dinner and, buy some wine etc. Candles, and all that shit. I call her up, because shes late. No-one answers. I then get a call later, wich train she should take next. Everything seems to be alright. When the door buzzer buzzes, i just finished cooking dinner. When she comes in, she is crying, and fucking bleeding out of her mouth, and has a blue eye. She spends 2 minutes on the bathroom using toilet paper to wipe up her blood. Apparently, things get fucking bloody and dramatic with this chick. I think the biggest thing on her mind was that she had been beaten up. I don't think you can rely on the way she reacted to you telling her you love her in a round about kind of way tonight, as being how she really feels. As Dannnnnnnn said, try talking to her properly about it in a few days when she's calmed down a little bit. The very fact that she still came round to see you and trusted you enough to hold her and to confide in you after something so traumatic, shows that she thinks very dearly of you. Don't be too disheartened, and make sure that you concentrate on her for a while, as opposed to how you feel. That will keep your mind off feeling sorry for yourself at least, and will show how much you care for her, and make you very appealing to her. |

I've never been in a situation like that really, where a female friend was beaten up, but I imagine there's really nothing you can do but be there for her. Probably don't even have to talk much, just let her know you're always there for her. And yeah, I'd say leave it to the cops as well. If you went after the guy it'd probably do more harm then good. |

I was with a girl that liked a lot of drama too. In that situation though, those wierd bruises and mouth bleeding and stuff ended up being her boyfriend/roomate who I thought they were platonic. Maybe theres a chance her bf found out she was having dinner with you and he got jelous? If that is the case, there is a chance she won't tell you because she doesn't want you to feel responsible, so she may make up a story about some guy on the street. Now, given the situation, I would put my money on that before what she told you. |

I am not one to just go kicking peoples ass, in fact I am a very non-violent person...but there was a line that was crossed here, especially if it involves someone you truly care about. If the woman I cared about and loved got her face punched by some guy, then all bets are OFF...thats the time when that man needs to have his clock cleaned atleast for good measure...I cannot stand it when guys beat down on women and I think its a really pussy thing to do...Ok so her dad is a cop and I am sure he will be able to go thru the proper channels to see that this guy is arrested, but in the meantime, he deserves an ass whipping plain and simple. I see where you are coming from. I seriously doubt that he's the one responsible tho, he's not that kind of guy. In fact, i really think thats impossible. I actually felt extremely bonded to her already. We have seen a lot of good shit, and some bad shit together. Sounds pretty shitty... But my feeling from your post is that in the end you will be able to tell her how you feel about her and she will likely recipricate. If she can't accept the "nice guy" type then she's bound to keep living in these destructive circles (not that getting beat was in any way her fault though) until she's a single mom waitressing somewhere with dark circles under her eyes and an addiction to alcohol, while the "nice guy" she should have ended up with is happily married with 2 kids by the age of 35. I wouldnt say she's in a destructive circle. As i said, i met the guy she was dating back at the art school, and he was actually a nice guy, and i actually had some fun with him. She just has this personality that attracts trouble for some odd reason. |
