I've been watching this 6-DVD boxset quite a lot as of late. It's rather great, isn't it? There could be more bits with animals killing other animals, but apart from that it's stunning. Shame I have to watch it alone; if it hasn't got tits, sex jokes, and people drinking pints, most folk aren't interested.

It's a good box set, although gets a little tiresome if you watch more than one episode at a time.

i havent watched any of it. is it just yet more lions and gazelles in some shitty safari park? that stuff has been done to death. if it is more natural history orientated then i will definately watch it

No, it hasn't got any shitty safari parks, it's a highly acclaimed series and a fair few people I know who normally don't give a shit about this stuff were really impressed with it.

I watched this on CBC, at least I think it was this. There was a shot of some large cat bounding down some icy cliff that just took my breath away, can't believe the co-ordination.

Superb series with some truly awe-inspiring cinematography. I like those segments at the end which document the filming process too. Sexcellent.

live giant squids aint ever been filmed as the pressure is too great where they live for decent cameras to work. Some japanese scientist managed to get a few still shots once but other than that the only evidense as i understand it is from the contents of sprm-whale stomachs and also their battle scars... motherfucking huge squid beaks wre found.
Planet Earth is bloody great....just to show the depth and breath of vistas and enviromnets is WOW, plus the sharks were amazing
