so it's leaked, anything else gotten it yet?

im about half way thru listening right now, and im not
dissapointed. still has the same murkyness of his more
recents releases, but much more acoustic. lots of piano,
guitar, and just more organic sounds. it reminds me alot of
drukqs in its tone and sense of space.

hooray, some new media that has me excited finally

I have to be honest, I have never really liked his music so
I'm not expecting much from his new one.

I really hope this will not be the end of my love for the
man. Chaos Theory was a bit boring.

Outstanding. It's easily his best since Supermodifed. Maybe
it lacks overall consistency, but at least 5 of the tracks
can rank in my non-existent top 10 Amon Tobin list.
Hell, this may even be his best album to date.

agreed, if a bit inconsistant, the last four tracks are
outstanding, its great when you realize artists who have an
extremely experimental style let their pop sensibility shine
through.

always could be one of the top amon songs to date.

Chaos theory was boring unless you played the game. Its one
of my favorite game soundtracks. It works so perfectly with
the game, I couldn't imagine playing it without.

It was kind of a stupid plan to release it as an album.

I don't know what to think of it. Upon first listen it
sounds both boring and amazing at the same time.
Production-wise it's awesome, but musically....dunno.
Probably needs a few more listens.

I just listened to the Bloodstone EP, Bloodstone is a bit
aimless but Esther's is great and the third track which isnt
on the album (i think) is probably the best one

im digging it so far, i will def buy it....i think the
latter half is better but i think the rest will grow as it
seems that there are plenty of subtle and scrumptious bits
all over the place. i was very happy to hear that was was a
lot of ny favorite stuff from his breezeblock set on
there....very creative album imo

Hahahaha!

I don't know why you did either. I would almost ask you, but
I wouldn't expect a relevant answer, so I won't. Let me give
you this, though: if you read carefully, you'll see the
answers are already here. In some form or another.

you won't need to download an album that sounds nothing like
any of his other albums in that case, mainly because it's
been recorded...yunno... in Foley rooms.

And actually... I might not be the best person to advise you
to listen to Amon Tobin properly, because I don't actually
think his albums sound very much like each other.

i disagree actually, just about everything he's done since
supermodified has deffinately had a similar sound to it.
its that kind of murky but pulsating mishmash of instruments
that stays suprisingly intelligable in terms of different
sounds.

tostoyed: if his current sound is that annoying to you, try
checking out his earlier releases; id reccomend bricolage.
everything's alot more forefront in the mix, and its
noticably simpler than his recent work, but its still damn
groovy.

Maybe it was because my headphones are old. Friends said
it's a nice album...

okay i gave it a proper listen.

it's devastating mastering and conceptional wise, all that
sample cutting is really good.

but it's a disaster as a amon tobin album. it just doesn't
has this you know.... thing

So you're saying that two of his albums (OFOW and Chaos
Theory) sound similar? And one of them was just a throw-away
video game soundtrack. That's almost agreeing with me I
guess.

And again, 'Foley Room' sounds completely different to
anything he has done before because it was recorded
differently and different source material.

well, i was grouping supermodified in with those, and
considering he released like 5 million between all those
(verbal, 4 ton mantis...)

i just think supermodified marked a change in his production
style, and yes, i think foley room still has alot of that
same sound. things can sound similar even if theyre recorded
differently because in the end its still the same guy behind
the keyboard.

It is certainly different, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. It
is one of those albums which work better as a whole, with no
real standout track.

Lots happens in those tracks, he seems to really put much
effort into his music. Excellent, dense album. Surely on my
best 2007 list already. "killer's vanilla" is a very
