A godlike figure of the oldschool folk/blues line, just got the 4CD compilation "Leadbelly's Last Session" with a ton of classic material in it. Anyone else here like his stuff and what he collected in his years? I've got a lot of the compilations, but I'm still looking for more stuff. So much out there.

I bumped this thread a while ago.
It ended up being about a member i don't know about, but fuck that.
He is insaley good. I just bought this old 2cd with him, but it's amazing. Van Morrison loves him as well.
I probably can't reccomend anything more than you already know with Leadbelly, but i know a bit about blues and soul music if you're interested.

I'm pretty into that stuff as well, so I guess the more obscure recommendations would be the most welcome...

Well, i really love the motown style, i don't know if you are into that? 50'ies ultra pop stuff. Four tops, The drifters, stuff like that?
For soul music, i really love David Ruffin. Copenhagen used to be this big Jazz city at one point, and my dad hung around with some black people at that time, and has some weird records from that time now. I think i found some David Ruffin on Limewire. His voice is really emotional and rasp at the same time. To much hash and whiskey! You might like him.
