my sisters 9 year old has become a bit of a fan recently
after i played H.E. for him. You wanna hear him mimic the
melodies and bass lines .....and he's gas using a tennis
racket as a bass guitar. I should video it for you.

We watched "school of Rock" the other day when i baby sat
and he said "imagine squarepusher did that? That would be
cool". He's also loving all the squarepsusher shout-outs
o've played him and can do a mean "Make some fucking
noise..... for the squarepusha" as on alive in Japan.

I like to think the kids brain will be differently shaped
due to early exposure to such expressive talent. I keep
thinking of Jim'll Fixit - " I would like jim to fix it for
me to go fucking mental at a squarepusher gig"

My dad is a teacher, and it's amazing how kids aged 6-11 are
so open to this music. He regularly plays Autechre,
Squarepusher, and Aphex in their music or dance classes.
Shame they'll stop liking all of it when they're 14 because
it's no longer cool. :-(

amazing, how at different times kids suddenly dought
anything at early teenagehood, then come back to being open
again, for example.
i had been listening to aphex when i was 12 and whilst that
my friends were into the usual eminem, then a few years
later into hendrix, and at 16 were open to my music aphex
boc, embracing it.

weird
