If someone doesn't know this album try to check
immediately, it's really great!
It has a hot sound, a cold sound, electronic melodies...
really a great cd by Royksopp.

Don't think to listen Autechre's sounds but it's a very
particular chill-out.

Out of all the cd's you have to recommend, this one has my
recent
Ex-Girlfriends name in the title...That dirty
whore.....LOL...

No matter, I know your a man of good taste Woofer...I am
looking forward to checking it out...
One question, were you saying that it DOES sound a bit like
AE, or DOES not...

Cheers....

No, I saied who it hasn't the Autechre' sound...
Melody A.M. is chill out nearest to Boards of Canada.

its a remix of their 'quiet is the new loud' album which
turns out better than the original and u shud be able to get
it cheap!

I like "eple" ,it seems a plaid track

I agree. The album reminds me more of Plaid than BoC is we
are making comparisons. I still think it is a very good
album though.

I really hate this album. slick, over-produced, cheap,
throw-away music.

yours sincerely,

dr. qrter.

If they hadn't got so much MTV and other airplay you
wouldn't feel so strongly about it now would you? :P

try downloading 'mardi gras' or 'welcome to the mardi gras'
whatever it's called? Soo much hip hop relies on his
breaks, there are atill some on tapped bits to discover..

sadly, I would.

I heard "eple" somewhere, not MTV. I then heard the album
which made me cringe.

I actually found this album to get less interesting as I
listened to it...Maybe it was just overkill at the
time...Ill have to dig it out and give it a spin.

i found this album pretty enjoyable. royksopp's night out is
really good, as are a couple of the other songs. eple is
nice.

I really like this album. I haven't listened to it for a
long time, but I remember liking every song. "In Space" is
just beautiful-easily the highlight of the album IMO.

offline acrid milk hall from United Kingdom on 2004-06-10 01:59 [#01232327]

it's nice.
i haven't listened to it for a while either.
although i do remember the weaker tracks on the album
getting really tedious after a while. there are a few parts
which really are just background music, and not in a good
way either. when it shines, it shines though. it's a summer
evening thing, so i may well dust my copy off when i'm a
little more settled in where i'm living.
all i need now is a rocking chair and a porch..

or maybe i'll get a hammock..

it's a weird album.. I only thought there were three good
tracks, but my copy is broken now, so that doesn't matter.

we often see the røyksopp-people out on town, and then we
yell at them!

The singles from this album are so much enhanced with the
music videos -- all of them are great. I once thought "Poor
Leno" was a Jay Leno diss track just from the name :P But
really, the video for "Remind Me" is pure eye candy and SOOO
catchy, and I mean that in the best way.

SEE THE VIDEO HERE, EH

the mac os x installer completely killed eple for me. it
now suffers from
played-way-too-many-times-to-the-point-of-irritation.

i personally think the death was not aided by mac os x
installer, any of their songs become tiresome after a couple
of listens.

It's not bad, I don't like the housey ones and the chill out
stuff is a little too near to "Cafe del Mar" territory for
me but I do have a soft spot for "Eple" because it reminds
me of Plaid.

eple is a pretty track.

there's a really mellow song on the first side, like track
#4 or #5, with a woman vocalist...very chill. i like that
one a lot.

better.

plaid?
boc?
what?? royksopp don't sound like either of them really.. at
all..

i like all three, in varying degrees.

fed up of hearing eple? watch less tv..
advertising has a tendency to rape artforms like that.
