1. Is version 5 the latest edition
2. Does anyone know any sites that give easy instructions how to use it, i openened the help file last night and realised it will take about a year to read it all

am i right to say that a sampelr can be opened in reaktor and then a midi channel in cubase can be used to play the sampler ?
does cubase have any built in effects ?

The latest version is 5.1 .. it's fucken wicked because it has a ton of included vst effects and some vst instruments (pretty basic).
I don't know Reaktor that well, but yes... i presume that because it is vst compatible that you can do exactly what you have described. infact, you could go to the extent of graphing the knob twiddling done in reaktor in cubase ..
i started on cubasis av [really cut down version] - and then got the full version, which while i'm still learning seems more or less intuitive in a cubase sort of way - re: the manual ..??
try www.computermusic.co.uk for "tutorials" - they have a masterclass series that goes over a different technique every month .. hope this helps.
