it stretches into facts like george bush, tony blair all obey pagan demon gods (baal, for example) and have blood oaths to the world of masonry. that's a pretty intense thing and would have a lot of implications, thats why i'm skeptical

The conspiracy against the freemasons was very likely started by the catholic church. The catholic church did not like secretive organizations, and it was considered a sin for an organization as such to operate without any hand in the church.

Well, now at least. But the organization is hundreds of years old. These conspiracies are very old. They didn't just pop up in the sixties.
Right about now they are a totally harmless group of shriners, with about as much melevolent ambitions as the boy scouts.

well, they have actually been involved in a few cases of corruption, like someone favouring another member when hiring people and stuff like that, and some members are in high-up positions, but I don't think it goes farther than corruption right now; it isn't very likely that they're some kind of shadow government.

I study the freemasons quite a bit...from texts written by freemasons to text against freemasons, I used to work with a guy who was in the freemasons, very open about somethings and others not so much. They are also tied to the poor knights of christ

Indeed it seems as if their power has diminished. There were so many promient members like mozart and handel, including a large number of presidents. Its funny because there are a lot of christian and catholic churchs around here with huge compasses and the sacred geometry symbol.
Perhaps an interesting fact: Look at symbolic artwork done by freemasons they normally have 2 pillars in them, they are the earth and the heaven pillars. this symbolism is similiar to that of the Cathars. It ties to their saying "As above so below" or trying to recreate "heaven" on earth.
The old distress calling for masons (to find help from other masons without letting anyone else know they were members was) "Is there no help for the Son of a Widow?"
If interested I can tell you what this means

That is a bit worrying. Most of the members comes from the upper strata of society, and although there's no implicit nepotism (I believe they have rules against it), they still have this strong social network where they make deals and agreements outside the public domain.

you can do lots of stuff; you can start an organisation; you can gather your friends and do a protest; you can try to investigate matters to put things in to plain sight; the possibilities are almost endless. And many others before you have started with only themselves and built a huge organisation, built world-spanning networks, made things happen. There's nothing stopping you, only yourself. If everyone thinks "what can I do?" nothing will happen, and it's only because of themselves. Sometimes you just need to push a little bit to start the avalanche.

yeah
but it's basically very much like other ways of "networking": if you have a competent friend and there's an opening at the place where you work, you can recommend him, and the boss will consider him based on your recommendation (if you're employee of the month tenth year running, your recommendation will most likely have some weight).

nah two different things the illuminati was originally a bunch of scientist from around newtons time that were supposed to prove Gods existance through science...but were later tortured by the church. this led to their hate of religion...of course this is just one theory, some say they are much much older, descendents from egypt, tied to mystery schools. Or even before that, what the real belief is in my theory:
There was a group of people who thought/think the god in the old testiment is actually an evil god who tried to blind us of knowledge. the opposing force called satan (which literially means adversary or opposing force) tried to free us of our ignorance by having adam and eve eat from the tree of knowledge. Satan or lucifer means the illuminated one or the morning star. The one of knowledge, so the illuminati are actually followers of this opposing force which frees us of our ignorance and blindness.
Mind you I dont believe this idea personally, I shall keep my own beliefs to myself.

"a few cases of corruption"?!
that's the whole point of the freemasons.. they look out for eachother. one gets in trouble, another helps out. there's nothing sinister to it at all. it's just a secret society.

Also I believe this may have more to do with the fact that in conspiracy theories freemasons have much power behind the scenes.

yeah, but in that respect it doesn't differ much from other ways of networking. of course there should always be fair dealings, it's just that you'd have to do something to make sure all interests are out. over here, they're usually smart, keeping out of the decisionmaking when it comes to fellow masons, and other people do the same with friends and family members (in professional contexts), but I don't think it's something the freemasons tend to deman, it's just poor judgement of certin people.

My neighbour (he's gota be about 60 now) was in the Freemasons when he was younger, for a good few years.
According to him, they were a fairly unassuming group, that is until he began working his way up the ranks. Eventually, he reached a certain level and they began to introduce him to the mystical/ ritualistic aspects of the group. Anyway, it got REALLY INTENSE, powerful magical shit, and he basicaly flipped out and left.
Coming from a pretty credible guy.
Oh, and that business about the Illuminati and the Old Testament God, sounds similar to Gnostic beliefs- who see the OT God as the "Demiurge", an arrogant and foolish being that thinks it is the one true God, hence its vengeful nature
