 | I like toroise, they seem a post rock version of autechre. I started with standards only because it was on warp and I'm
a huge warp fan. At first listen I thought it was crap and
tedious, i liked only few tracks like benway, then I adored
it and I think it's their best. Then i moved to the rest and
found it nice as well, but they are a bit underrated for me

 | clever guy but i don't consider them as the indie rock version of
 autechre

all their albums except "the brave and the bold" and
"everything is all around you" is almost perfect

check their latest boxset full of rarities and remixes +
 dvd!
i consider it the best release of year 2k6

 | ya, that's pretty perceptive linking them to autechre. there are plenty of similarities. the track listing on the
new lazarus taxon retrospect highlights the parallels. on
the first disc autechre's 'today retrieval' is the only
remix and is sandwiched between 'sexual for elizabeth' and
'whitewater' which i think both show similarities to
autechre's style. Its ridiculous to say they're completely
influenced... but they borrow ideas from them and go as far
 as highlighting it.

live show is invigorating, however. two drummers, two
xlylophonists, and some other lovely shit going on.
