when someone says 'this is more bang for the buck' that
person means you get more for what you pay (price/quality
ratio). So if both bleach and nevermind were the same price
in a store, aneurysm would buy bleach.

Nevertheless, in this case it was a complete bogus statement
since mr aneurysm wasn't buying anything but a meal.

anyway yeah, nevermind is a 5/5 album :)

so i;m gonna download bleach now
and shuck it down my veins
because i was on a stool at that restauraruant and i rocked
the fucker with my bleach loving ass
David Geffen didn't kill Kurdt Cobain -- it was fucking Sub
Pop because they were fed up washing dishes for the man!

My all-time fav band. I prefer In Utero, though. I love all
the records I have, but was very disappointed when I bought
the last "box". With so much available material, especially
the DVD-part should have been much better

Musicly
Socialy
Historicly

Best mis-spelling of 'Appreciation', ever.

If it wasn't the convention here to have, "x appreciation
thread" I'd of had no idea what this was about. :D

more of the tapes

music for groupies of the 90s...like me
technical skills reduced to the minimum, but they had got
ego and good sound engineer/ producers

and yes...i have all their albums and i still like them

Its funny to listen to Bleach then listen to In Utero and
hear how much they changed/how much money was pumped into
thier records, in just a few years

it's not even the best nirvana album, for god's sake. the

it was their most mainstream album yes, but that in no way
makes it "uncool", its just a bit poppy in areas

it's a great album, but jesus, the best album *of all time*
musically, socially and historically?

to say that about any album is incredibly ignorant..

who cares, his boldness is wrong, there isnt a best album of
all time, there are thousands of those albums

so he feels incredibly strong about an album, who cares

Thieves and Liars, murderers and hypocrites :)

Nirvana = Grundge Award

(given to an artist who stood for a generation of sound and
image, not only on MTV but to the world)

R.I.P.

Nirvana are better when you don't think of them as Grunge.

but they are totally grundge, listen to Bleach and all the
early eps, thats what the sound was like up in the
northwest, nirvana, melvins, mother love bone, alice in
chains, pearl jam, tad and so on...

offline tolstoyed from the ocean on 2006-10-30 19:01 [#01995515]

i don't think melvins fit inthere. i mean in grunge or
whatever..and nirvana was so original they had to come up
with a new expression, just so they could name all those
other bands trying to copy them.

I thought maybe I'd covered my as with the IMO prefix,
obviously not. I'm sticking to my guns, what Nevermind did
for music is incredible. Being Nirvana's paramount album it
has also come to represent the entire story/tradgerty of
Nirvana, with its iconic cover and the fact that its very
easy to listen to in it's entirity. Every song is a classic
and brings right you right back to that time and place.

I'm so very sorry my boldness bothers you. Maybe I can be
more 'meh' in the future? ;)

he formed a band called sweet 75 with a butch looking woman.
band released one hit single which was used for a pepsi
commercial. album sales were low and novoselic was once
again bandless but still cool because he's tall and likes to
hop about with his bass.

in utero is where it's at concerning nirvana imhotep.
socially prehistorically and all. sounds nice and rough. the
edges aren't polished like nevermind - an album which i am
unable to enjoy anymore.

I meant labels like grunge, for me, suck. For one thing they
become cliche. Especially grunge. People love to classify
eveything. How many times have you whinced when you ask
someone what music they like and they say everything my
electronic music when you know full well what kind they
mean. They don't even think about all the rock music that
utilizes electronics. Nirvana, judging by interviews with
Kurt, would have probably made New wave music like the Cars.
It would have been different though and people would of had
to come up with some other lame cliche genre name for it.

in the first 2 tracks. so STRONG
